I use oil-based Ready Patch for most exterior wood fill. Spraying a few seconds of Bloxygen into the can will keep it from drying while in storage. My woodworking Design Plans: https://jonpeters.com/design-plans/

I love that. It'll last a long time if it doesn't go bad😂
Where do you get it
If you ever find yourself using JB Weld Herculiner roll on bedliner and have some left over that you want to save, be sure to spray some argon in that can too. I found out the hard way it will harden in the can if oxygen is present. 3/4 of a $115 gallon cured in the can after about a week
Wait which can is 30 bucks?
You can also use propane. Much cheaper and it works on household paint also.
If you store it upside down it doesn't dry out. Have some on my shelf I still use 2 years later
Why not use that vacuum sealer we all omn
Could you put a piece of Saran Wrap on the filler instead?
That’s a good idea! Personally, I like to add a layer of plastic over the cans that I might not use as much, before sealing the lids.
Tap a little valve into the lids. Keep um.
Where are you that this can cost 30 dollars? I work in a paint store and sell it everyday and its no more than 16
I been using regular bondo forever.
Ready patch is the absolute best of the patching compound
I think ready patch is the only premixed patch that I've ever successfully used in my 45 years in construction repairs..
I use to pay $4.00 for a can now it’s $30
When you’re in the store you get a sleeping bag…
Good to learn. TY
Try sandwich wrap. Works.
Simply pour water on top on the product before you seal the lid
It will never degrade nor will it allow it to dry out
I always keep a can in my holster just in case 😂
We use that stuff almost daily. Greatest filler ever
..Greatness
How does it force the air out if the lid is closed? Asking for friend😂😂😂
Stuff shines through almost always. Try platinum patch. Doesn’t shine and ready to sand quick
??? This is gold info!
Yeah that stuff is fantastic. Drys super hard and is sandable I love it
I grew up with Durham’s water putty….universally use it, it’s toneable, drys in 15 minutes, sands easy, can never go bad as it’s a powder, mix it thick or thin, is rather inexpensive, interior or exterior been around for over 80 years…available most anywhere….can’t say enough good things about it…
Really cool
So simple, but I never would have thought of doing that. Nice tip.
I think you can buy a lot of wood filler $30
Ya. I use my migraines welder. But it’s the same thing and same end result! Works great
Would it be easier to just use bondo…. i have never used that product before… only bondo
That bloxogen looks pretty kool. But $30 a can when u could get a 40lb cylinder for $50 from any welding supply makes it a gimmick product for me. Also its a 1 trick pony ur not hooking that little can up to ur mig.
Baby oil works too. Half inch layer on top, no oxygen will penetrate for quite a long time.
Lol heavy argon.
Biloxygen is a must for any oil based products! I thought i was getting scammed the first time i bought that "empty can" 😂
Never tried oil based filler, i usually use bondo brand wood filler or jb weld brands wood filler both non shrinking, love it, dries and sandable in 15 minutes hard as a rock, never cracks…
I have two giant sized cans of that about 600 cubic feet.
It’s not oil based it’s solvent based
You paid $30 for that? I pay about $26 for 360 cubic feet
Taking a page from the wine industry. I love it
PIECE OR SARAN WRAP WORKS
We use oxygen displacement like that in the meat business too. Not just like that lol but same principle
