Former President Trump held a rally at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Sunday where allies made crude and racist remarks, including comedian Tony Hinchcliffe who cracked a racist joke about Puerto Rico. NBC’s Garrett Haake reports for TODAY.

  1. I’m a Latino American citizen, and I initially supported and considered voting for Donald Trump because I believed he was focused on promoting peace, avoiding war, supporting legal immigration, fighting racism, and emphasizing Christian values. Many of us Latinos share a Christian background similar to many Americans. However, in response to hearing certain remarks, I’ve decided to support Kamala Harris instead. 30k is going to kamala i guess since she the only one with 0 racist remarks

  2. The Second World War marked a turning point in the global fight against fascism. In the aftermath of the conflict, democratic governments, including the United States, sought to educate the public about the dangers of this ideology and its potential resurgence. One notable example of this effort was the release of the film "Don't Be a Sucker" in 1943.

Produced by the United States Army Signal Corps and distributed by Paramount Pictures, "Don't Be a Sucker" was a powerful anti-fascist propaganda film that warned Americans about the tactics used by fascist leaders to manipulate public opinion and undermine democratic institutions. The film highlighted the dangers of prejudice, intolerance, and the appeal of strong, authoritarian leaders.

The film's release was part of a broader campaign by the U.S. government to raise awareness about the threat of fascism. Other initiatives included public speeches, educational materials, and radio broadcasts. These efforts emphasized the importance of vigilance, critical thinking, and active participation in democratic processes.

While the specific tactics and rhetoric of fascist movements may evolve over time, the core principles that underpin them remain constant. These include the glorification of violence, the suppression of dissent, and the erosion of individual liberties. By recognizing these warning signs and actively resisting their spread, we can help to safeguard our democracies and prevent the resurgence of fascism.

  3. Yeah I was 99% gonna vote for trump but glad I waited and saw this. I get it that it might’ve been a joke from a comedian but probably wasn’t the right venue to do so

  4. Out of everything the comedian jokes about THIS is the only one they talk about, do you know why? Legacy media and the democrats know that Trump is getting the Latino vote this time around and more than any other republican ever. They’re just trying to sway people because they know they’re done!

  5. I'm puertorrican and I voted for Trump. It did not affect my point of view about Trump's policies and his 4-year profile as the president of this nation. I was born and raised Catholic. I'm pro life, defend Catholicism/Christianity/Judaism values. My skin color is white and, unfortunately, I have been discriminated by blacks, latinos, and white Democrats only. I pray that my country becomes the 51st state of this wonderful republic.

  6. I’m Latina I live in USA 35 yrs! I lived 5 yrs in Montana all full of racist republicans ! Trump was or any republican president nice and fearless to Latins!!!

  7. 😱🥶😱🥶😱🥶😱🥶😱🥶😱🥶😱
Donald Trump is often seen as racist, xenophobic and a known liar. When the results are announced, it is very likely that he will refuse to accept the verdict of the ballot boxes. This could lead to an escalation of tensions, similar to what is seen with other minorities. We should prepare for a possible civil war fueled by these extreme ideas.

  8. Why didn't you show the audience's reaction? You just showed him tell the joke, and then cut away before you could hear the crowd's reaction. Most of them didn't laugh. Most of them groaned in disgust.

  9. Trump is now using media to create the illusion that he was winning. If Harris wins, he appears to be preparing to incite people and cause some kind of riot like he tried at the last election. people will say election stolen

  10. Did Trump actually say anything racist? Because to me it just seems like the others were being racist. Trump doesn't have any control over what they say.
