Attempting to build my biggest project yet. A giant timber-framed table with built-in benches. Made with mortise and tenon joinery, half-lap joints, and lots of wood pegs.

Great video. And yer mitts, love the reference. All I could think was a young table lives, an old tree dies. Fair trade.
I work at a hotel not near but i would love something like this at my hotel….. maybe call some hotels they may want a beauty like this….
Я даже не сразу понял, что перевод автоматический. Отличная возможность смотреть оригинальные видео на понятном языке. Привет из России
русский вариант хорош , пусть будит тот акцент , честно это хороший перевод даже очень хороши
Thinking of WAR ratings – I don't do woodworking, I'm an electrician – and I came to the conclusion, that another factor in this is how much I need it. I have a really nice clamp to help me keep my cables sorted when connecting it to a patch panel. I payed about 70€ for that, and it's great for exactly that job. That's the kind of specialized equipment I invested in when I first started building up my toolbox, thinking that a well stocked toolbox means having quality tools for specialized tasks. It took me way too long to realize, that it's much more important (to me) to get the everyday-use basics just right. A pair of reliable wirecutters, a quality knife.. a thought out and good toolbelt. If I want to do a quality job it's most important (to me) that I can rely on the components of my basic workflow, so I have the time and nerve to get the more complex steps right.
When upgrading my toolbox now, I not only compare the tools to their relative replacement, I try to think of the whole toolbox as a (in the best case) well oiled machine. If I want to invest in the capability to do a particular job better, it may be a possible solution to get a specialized tool for that task, but maybe getting the smaller gears to run even smoother allows for more time and headspace for that task, possibly achieving a similar result.
Dude, please get a rubber wedding ring before you sleeve your finger on something, please!
great video and efforts you are a genius, fan from india love your work🎉
Jesus, you talk a lot.
You made me laugh, fir is the 2nd hardest after ebony, 1.5 fir to 8 ebony
La traducción al español está bastante bien; tan solo he observado algún pequeño defecto de acentuación y alguna cosilla sin importancia. Por otra parte, se disfruta muchísimo más el vídeo al no tener que ir leyendo subtítulos. Una gran idea.
Hindi translation converted feet to meters – lol
sin city
Wonder if its possible to make a circular table with rings of alternate wood and resin
Hey, could you add Italian translation? 😂
Sounds like Scott deserves a raise after all the suggestions he made!
Translation in French is okay, voice almost identical as original. But rythm a bit "robotic" . But for French viewer, very good translation with all important step very understandable.
The german translation sound greepy. I am from Germany. But its a nice Feature 😉 . I keep on watching it in english
The Russian translation is excellent, I understood everything except the play on words. The translation has the same accents, so he just says the same word chamfer twice, it’s the same story with the zebra
What's wrong with fag
Ther German is great!
OMG, what a rattle mouth
Hi, I don't know if you'll see this comment but already thank you very much for the content you offer which inspires me every day. I have an idea for your table even if it seems improbable to me, I'm French and I do a school in the woods and it would be magnificent if it ended up in our establishment.
MARV!
32:05 my body literally shivered from watching you remove those cut outs! Thanks for letting me watch that in peace 😂
Las traducciones al español son buenísimas
To many adverts so i will not be watching your videos
The French track has a soft Quebec (French Canadian) accent. As a Frenchie this sounds hilarious. Imagine watching a French youtuber and their English audio track has a thick southern accent.
The translation in itself is good. But I'll stick to the original.
@37:49 … so much firewood 😳😬😵💫😵💫😵💫
Ummm…. I'll take it!
I am desperate for wood that size as this is perfect for 99% of my projects. 💁
…
Thank you for sharing another awesome building project, and it was nice to see how you thought to resolve the table height problem. I was going to suggest adding nice thick outdoor seat cushions. 👍
russian = perfect
31:19 okay, so out of curiosity I listened to the German voice track. It's not bad, it speaks formally to the audience, which is a bit odd, I'd say most German channels speak informally. Not only that, but it seems to have a slight English accent…? That caught me off guard. 😂 And I'd say some of the sentences are weird because they work in English but not really in German (kinda like a word-for-word translation). Pretty cool stuff though. Also, you sound so… unalive inside in the German version. I wouldn't say you sound super enthusiastic, but you do sound a lot more playful in English than in German. In German, your soul has left your body. 😂
kudos to Scott. Almost an ASMR video!!
As a Trained Industrial Engineer,
The Craftsman’s challenge in 2024 is utilizing the technology, and advanced equipment to continue to create Robust and Elegant products.
Obviously you Do this.
Especially with this table.
Don’t discredit yourself compared to your ancestors, they might not be able to utilize this modern equipment as you so brilliantly do.
How weird is it to sit here and listen to him complain that his shop isn't really enough, that he'd rather go to a REAL shop with big equipment.
What about the Visitors Center. Or State Parks. Looks beautiful
Driving to South America is especially difficult because there are no roads or ways to drive there.
Google a little thing called the Darien Gap.
Me gustaría ver las placas de YouTube en un estante de madera hecho por ti, algo único y genial, no solo puestas en la pared, saludos desde Honduras, mucha admiración para tu canal, un día quiero ir a conocer tu taller
Hah! the Brasilian portugues is pretty good, though still sounds kind of "AI-ie". Nice. Fun. and Educational!
I can't repeat myself enough when you round over or break edges, it helps the finish be more robust. Sharp edges are horrible for finishes. I'll never understand people who push sharp edges in finishes.
A little late to the party, but I might have put some blocks under the benches to raise them, rather than lowering the table. That seems like the path of least resistance.
I find Your show is better on mute
donate it to a national park, but def get the recognition
How about local police or fire station. I am sure my department would take it but we are a long way away and shipping would suck
Community center? I live here in eugene. What about a city park or a blm parks?
