Silverbeet, or Swiss chard, is an easy vegetable to grow, you can sow the seed directly into the ground as long as the temperature is above 0 degree centigrate.
A simple hack that can save you time and water is to put mulch around the base of the plant. This way, when it rains, the dirt won’t get splashed up and stuck in the grooves on the stalk, which is very hard to wash off.
