I had to make another trip to Lowes with no intention of buying plants Yet I could not stick to my no spend plan, I found some fantastic bargain rack plants I could not pass up. They were on my wishlist for this season and I was tickled to get them for half-price.

Hi, I am Pamela and I garden in the mountains of Northern California. I am in Zone 8. I defy convention and break many garden ‘rules’ yet my garden is a tapestry of color and unruly beauty! I want you to be inspired to create a beautiful garden without spending a lot of money.

  1. Great finds!!! I transplanted two climbing roses last week from temporary pots into the ground. The leaves are all falling off now, but the branches still appear to be green. Did I kill them or will they bounce back?

  2. I worked in my local Lowes garden center for 8 yrs & loved it. Timing is everything when it comes to the clearance racks. We had customers that would come in twice a week to check the clearance racks. As an employee we got first pick…how I miss that! lol Anyway, after going way passed my flower budget this year due to getting impatient in the beginning of the planting season buying full price plants, I’ve made a decision for next year. Since my garden beds are pretty well established & have been for a couple years, I am going to challenge myself & my patience & only buy clearance/ discounted plants at Lowe’s. Should be fun & it will definitely challenge my patience in waiting for them to start being marked down & not buying full price early in the season when we all get antsy to start planting.😂

  3. Good morning Pamela! 😊
Great finds – especially those tree roses 🌹 yay!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 and you're right, if you can stop in once a week or more just to check…. you can find some beautiful and super nice plants and shrubs 😃
    Have a lovely weekend!!

  4. You guys are so lucky. I don't drive and have to pay like $25 plus shipping for a plant in a 2.5" pot. So if they die it just kills me.

  5. I go to lowes every other day!! The clearance racks are the first thing I go to!!!❤ I just got 2 knock out roses half off! There were zalias, daisys, lilac bushes, I get all my plants from there clearance! Oh I also got one of them climbibg roses thats in that collection I think it was the miracle collections, it started with a letter M?

  6. I have two Lowe’s in my area. I’ve learned that one has much better deals than the other. In fact, if they have a lot of markdowns one day, things will be marked down significanlty below the usual 50% off. I’ve scores some amazing deals there before. I have learned that Mondays are a bad day for markdowns. On your recommendation, I picked up some Wave petunias. They were in pretty good shape and I’ve transplanted them in my front garden bed.

  7. Hello flower patch lady, oh its definitely delightfully busy in your gardens. I remember when you bought your tree rose ,I have to say its making me tempted. Lovely video 😊oh those planters are very pretty. I enjoyed watching when you potted up the red geraniums in also.hmmm, lovely, thankyou pam,bye for now from me a nd my garden girls 🐔.

  8. I just got some Proven Winner daylilies and Sunpatiens from Lowe's clearance. I am happy to have them on discounts, but I do not like the way my Lowe's discounts the plants now.
The price used to be discounted at the managers' discretion, not the tier system they use now.

  9. So pleased you are enjoying them pam.your rewards for all the hard but enjoyable work you do.x😊

  10. Hello!!! I love the Lowe's bargain racks. I've scored several shrubs and perennials. My climate in southeastern Tennessee is really hot and humid so plants get stressed easily at the nursery. Last year I found a little lime hydrangea, encore azalea carnation, jubilation gardenia, garden phlox, sedum, and my favorite a myer lemon tree. Most only needed a good watering and a little food to recover from the stress. Would love to find a tree rose.

  11. Tôi rất vui được nghe bạn chia sẻ kinh nghiệm làm vườn và trồng hoa của bạn ,rất hữu ích với những người đang làm công việc trồng trọt .

  12. In my Southern CA area, Lowe's often on weekends (and sometimes even during the week) all outdoor clearance plants are 50% or 75% off. During the week the plants seem to be in better shape. Of course I need to quit stopping there as I have so many plants, but I just can't resist such good prices – and so many things are also easy to propagate. If you want kettle-type planters, remember to pay attention to Halloween merchandise when things appear in stores. There are usually black plastic things that can be painted any color. I have some in my backyard that I left black as I use some black in my backyard.
