Pond season 2024 is over! I thought I could've done more in a year, but this will have to do. At least the animals seemed to like what I've done so far. What do you think I should add next year? I already have some of the features lined up, but I'm open to suggestions. Enjoy and have a great weekend SerpaSquad!
You did well, I love it. Can't wait to see the rest of the project, especially the salamander section
Thanks for sharing the journey thus far! Looking forward to seeing this mature over the coming years! Keep it up!
I can't believe how rude people can be (5:03) They're your PETS! Not random animals you rid of.
"I really thought you had more basic knowledge 🤓" … What an arse!
Of course he knew what he was doing, that is why the pond is ENCLOSED in his YARD, not the wilderness! Goldfish became invasive due to people releasing them into WILD bodies of water, of which SerpaDesign did not do. The whole comment was hyperbolic at best. This series quite literally showed goldfish living beside other animals and contributing to a thriving human-started ecosystem. The lawn was only grass before this; you have helped countless animals on their journey through life and gave these goldfish a wonderful home to exist in for the rest of their days… Much more than these self-absorbed 'holier than thou' commenters will ever do! Helping is something entirely different than being bit of a wad and pretending to act better.
Do what gives YOU joy! Not what random strangers online want. I cannot wait to start my own carp pond in the future. Goldfish are lovely pets, just like most invasive animals we keep (such as dogs, cats and horses) but it's down to being responsible.
Thank you for the consistently calming and educational videos you provide. Has helped me get to sleep and think bigger for my animals enclosures' many a time. Have a great week! 💚🌱
oh no, you planted mint! Good luck!
what do you do when someone's "failure" is still better than your "above average"?
I love seeing it happen bit by bit over a period of time, seeing the way the thought process evolves, seeing little mishaps that require a design pivot and how they're accounted for; it's all good information.
This is my favorite YouTube series
Im not there and im already feeling relaxed. 😊
Looks awesome!
When you trim the native plants in the pollinator garden make sure to leave the trimmings around the plants! This will form a natural mulch and protect any insects that may be overwintering or insect eggs hiding in the foliage and stems.
Can’t wait to see how this develops!
With aquariums having lots of plants underwater, how come ponds rarely do ? Is it hard to maintain aquatic plants submersed?
The goldfish hate makes me sad. They are my fav fish. Carp are also invasive but no one complains about koi in ponds. Also, I wanted to ask, the garden area around the pond is so clean from weeds. How do you keep the weeds back so well?
I dunno if you’ll see this but I do recommend to double check if bullfrogs are native to your area, here in Oregon for example bullfrogs who are invasive have completely taken over. American bullfrogs are also responsible for habitat degradation
I love bullfrogs!
I can’t believe there are so many people whining about what they “don’t like”. Move the f#%^ on then people.
People complaining about goldfish being invasive are hilarious. Okay, fine, goldfish are invasive. But this is a pond in his garden, with no connection to any natural water. Why do goldfish bother them? Like they'll grow legs, come out of the pond, and start invading natural waters?
You inspired me to build me first pond ever in my parents garden this summer! 🌱🐸🦎🐝
I'm from the UK so apologies if its a silly question, but what is the native landscape like where he is? I'm not sure if he's mentioned before or if the whole state is the same!
Very impressive transformation! Inspiring
It looks epic but I wonder why you didn't get a larger pond? On the Urban Rescue Ranch he sometimes get visited by wild ducks as well as being used by his rescues like the beaver and waterfowl. He also have several types of fish in it
Plant a big tree behind the swing so that when you are an old man you can sit in its shade
0:35 "i failed" with that stunning picture behind him 😭😭😭 you did not fail, it's just taking more time than you thought
I wish I had even 10% of the skill and vision that this "failed" project has.
What is your plan when the Great Blue Heron finds your pond and eats EVERY fish there?
nice
When are you going to complete the understanding riparium plants page on your web site?
i, persanly like the seris
Thats a pretty great failure
Happy for you Tanner. The yard looks great! don't let the haters get to you, you're doing great
I love these videos, theyre always so relaxing and entertaining
Hey Tanner. I think there is a fake account @TannerSerpa showing your videos. Or is this a new account?
Looks like santa from above.
