  1. I live in zone 9b low AZ desert. Our best growing season just started for many veggies. Any ideas on how to kill those tiny fruit flys? I took everything out of my grow room, leaving a dish filled with apple cider and a Zevo light with the sticky tape to catch them. I don't want to repeat the problem when I start my new set of seeds. I want to sell plants I grow but can't sell anything with bugs growing along with the plants. How do you keep those bugs out of your grow room?

  2. Excited to see this project take shape. The waves in your line are a bit too short and wiggly but if you're getting rid of all the grass then that doesn't matter so much and do what you like best. I'm also growing a chitalpa in z7. I think they do well in hot climates. I think the flower and scent are supposed to be amazing – mine did not bloom its first season but grew a lot. Keeping new things watered because we haven't had rain in 3 weeks. Weeding and mulching as needed. Philly PA z7.

  3. You look so beautiful at the end of the video and that dress is so pretty. Not that you aren’t always beautiful. Can’t wait to see how the bed progresses.

  4. For some bizarre reason I've fallen for hydrangeas and invested in a few…..trying to resist buying more because don't know where to put them! I love my burning bushes leaf color so I bought the Eclipse hydrangeas (2 of them) thinking will put them at 2 corners front of house. Also you (and others) have me thinking of expanding my beds from neat squared off to curves. Will see. I can't dig like I use to. Have to hire help.

  5. You look so pretty, Amanda! Wow, your pot of pansies is a piece of art! It must feel so very satisfying to have grown these happy flowers yourself from seed! The container is perfect, and your bistro table shows it off great! I love this video! Really eager to watch your gorgeous desert orchid grow! I'd love to have one in Houston! 💜💜

  6. Amanda to deter armadillos I planted garlic cloves around the parameter of my garden, also put out cayenne pepper and ammonia and it has helped. They hate castor oil but is hard to find and costly.😊

  7. Love my root slayer and pots of pansies. In Md/DC area temps have cooled down but no frost, yet. I'm still planting pansies and violas, perennials and shrubs and divided some perennials. Cleaning up and laying compost and mulch. Will be planting bulbs, cool season seeds and rannunculus corms in the next few weeks. Lot of my summer annuals still look good. Lavender have a new flush of flowers and hellebores are starting to put out new foliage. I'm redoing my containers with plants that will make it through the winter. Your new garden is going to look fabulous.

  8. You left look fabulous! That was a ton of work. I had to transplant my El Niño a few weeks ago. Still droopy so I hope it survives!

  9. Im in Vermont zone 4 and had our first frost. which is my sign to dig up my dahlias tubers and planted my daffodils I don't put in tulips because deer and squirrels feast on the bulbs !!! and planting any perennials and shrubs for the spring

  10. Wow, for 8b you are MUCH milder than my 8b! Same frost date but we are in high 50s day, high 40's night! I love the viola's. Remind us when you started those to get plants with blossoms by now? Gorgeous1

  11. Love, love, love that dress! We've had our first frost in St. Louis in the past few days. Now it's in the seventies but I dare not step out in a dress. It might start snowing before I get home. LOL!
