Below, I’ll link some resources I used to learn about this game and make the video. Explore these links AT YOUR OWN RISK – it was safe for me but at the end of the day these are old webpages with plenty of things to potentially click on by accident.

https://www.vector.co.jp/soft/dl/win95/game/se228923.html (NEHAN)
https://www.vector.co.jp/soft/win95/game/se250258.html (NEHAN 2)

Note: To get these games to work, you’ll probably need to have the RPG Maker 2000 RTP (Run-time Package) installed on your computer. These are basic assets that enable the games themselves to have a very small file size. This link should work (https://www.rpgmakerweb.com//run-time-package) for that. If the game still doesn’t work, try setting your computer’s locale to Japanese too. If it still doesn’t work, leave a comment and I’ll try to figure it out.

  1. Back again with another one that's pretty far out there. Hopefully these RPG Maker videos continue to be interesting, it's a lot of fun to dig these up and learn about a totally new development scene that happened on the other side of the world. Check the description for chapters, music used, links, and a couple of search terms if you want to click random stuff and potentially find a game yourself.

  2. Maybe I missed it, but one detail to point out: It is implied that the first games player's character has been taken to the gate and then brought up to the room where the game starts. Hence why the killers stood around him, laughing. They knew he witnessed something but he doesn't remember and or locked it away to maintain sanity.

  3. rlly glad yt recommended this video essay! well written, engaging, and thrilling ^^ reminded me a little of summoning salt but for obscure horror games lol

  4. i really hope you keep doing these, i always love these rabbit-holes, and the vibes of these games. having them explained and given context and spoken about genuinely and fairly is really nice, and the telling of the events of the game is engaging and attention holding but in depth enough to not feel like im missing anything important. i love what you do and your passion for it :>

  5. I'm not even sure how I got here, but that was awesome. I love obscure games and video essays about them. Can't wait to enjoy more of your videos!

  6. another banger of a video marsh, i love your videos especially these obscure rpg maker games. keep up the good work man, i will be here to watch whatever you upload

  7. I have a similar connection towards these types of games. I remember being young and playing Crooked Man and being introduced into the world of these types of games. I never knew what they were or why there were so little of them. Now knowing theyre japanese it makes sense.

Theres almost a bubble. English internet is limited. Didn't have what i wanted. Now my only issue is learning another language

  8. 1:03:45 I'm guessing because "oni" is "demon" and this guy looks like one? Because I somehow get the feeling this isn't due to his great teaching skill.

  9. Something about this art style reminds me of cosmology of kyoto, the sunken faces, the heavy shadows. You know what I mean?

  10. If it's about obscure japanese RPG horror games, you ever heard about Utahonotatari? There was a lot of talk about the game because of the hyper realistic horror images and the weird bug messages that eventually lead to the picture of a dead person.

It's not been translated and there is not much info about it. It might interest ya

  11. youtube tends to give me some comical timing with throwing a random error and a video crashing
or resetting when during something happening in a video im watching.
this time? incidental "horror". near the end of the video, full screen,
HP the man himself uncannily staring back, "He sits there not saying anything, but then he addresses us
by name and says-", video suddenly stops, nothing, no loading icon, i click to close fullscreen, it wont respond,
just a sudden unsettling silence with uncanny HP Lovecraft staring back…hitting escape and reloading the
page fixed this issue, but that was an experience in its own. and it JUST so happen to only happen
during me watching something like this?😅

  12. İ find mars a over year ago and I am so happy to find this youtube channel. İt's amazing videos and content thanks❤ keep going

  13. listening to this while working on something and the sudden lobcorp music at 17 minutes made my eyes whip over so fast just to get jumpscared by the dead body
