My name is Sam and together with my girlfriend Lyanne, I am on a quest to restore the beauty of this old Italian villa from 1895. Join us as we have to let go of our Dutch habits to fit in in our Italian surroundings, were the word ‘plan’ gets redefined and our tastebuds are awakened.
The goal of this project is to show that with limited financial means and a lot of optimism we can resurrect the beauty of this abandoned villa in a green and sustainable way. But most of all learn from everything that we encounter and enjoy it whilst we’re at it.

I can't believe the rubbish in your garden, it's really hard work to clear that up. You ate so lucky to have your dad help you. It's going to be great once those vegetables start producing.
The road you see there, is that the Brenner motorway?
Nice design
Mind blowing how much trash people put in their own property! Why! ๐

You can always build a small rock sieve or compost sieve if you want to clean your soil. Good luck!
Hi, You guys are doing great. Do not pay attention to all the negative comments. Do it your wayโฆ.. 27k subscribers is not enough to afford powered machinery. Clear some of the rubbish , get the trailer to the top of the drive, the ground is dryer now. make space to turn the empty trailer by hand at the top. Love your channel. Thank you.๐ฎ๐ชโ๏ธ.
loving the mix contents. lovely to see your dad back. you make an awesome duo. hope he's feeling better after to motorcycle accident. when you burn any wood etc, save the pot ash and sprinkle it into your soil, its good for vegetation of any kind. love your design, its been well thought out. the transformation is looking fantastic. did you know get garden sieves to help separate the soi m the gravel, time consuming work, but worth it x the wood from the trees you could strip off the branches and use them as a temprory marker for your beds and paths until you get the posts that you really want. makes use of something thats taking up space until you can get rid of it. sorry im a pest, also have you thought of getting some solar powered outside lights that you can either again use the cut down tree posts or use any other posts to fasten them too. will make life so much easier for you will working in the dark, i would say 4-5 would probably be enough to light it up for you to work in and you can always move them around depending where you are working. can't wait for the next update. thank you for making all of us part fabulous journey renovating the villa and doing the garden which will look stunning if your design is anything to go on. good luck
Great garden plan. It will so pleasing in a to walk through, as well as to tend in the coming years. Great work on the design.

Wow Sam! You have inherited your Dad's work ethic. You are both such dedicated and hard workers.
Please be careful not to overdo things.

Wow itโs a lot of work???? ๐ฎ but is gonna be beautiful and you guys will have a lot of vegetables and fruits me encanta todo!!!!! ๐๐ช
The compost is good!!! I used compost for my garden and the vigรญas are delicious and organic
I've really enjoyed your gardening videos, the garden will be such an important part of the property.
Sam, Dad, the two of you work so well together, Dad be careful with your back. The area is looking good cleaned up, your garden is going to be great. God bless you Sam, Dad God bless your Family. See you on the next video.
Your father is amazing. You're lucky to have him in your life during this.
Itโs my understanding that concrete will leach chemicals into the soil. Perhaps much less than ideal for vegetable beds.
It does not appear that you are allowing enough space between your trees. Maybe 10 ft. Between full-grown apple trees. Your potatoes need to be put into about an 8 in. depth trench, at about a foot apart. Mice, voles, and rats will get to them when shallow.
You need that land tilled up, or your plants' roots won't go far enough or deep enough.
Can't you rent a rototiller or woodchipper?
You been blessed with a dad like that! Your relationship is amazing! ๐
OMG how much rubbish can there be in a garden. That's not just rubbish, it is trash. The previous owners trashed the hole place. A demolished car, devises, plastics and glass, glass, glass. Nice plans. Keep up the good work.
You make this so complicated. Instead of ordering a mini excavator container to dig out the gravel and order and refill with mother soil.
Doesn't it feel great to be working in the garden after all that time doing the pipes. Love your planned landscape, has structure but the curves give it a nice organic fee.๐
Feeling lol.
Your dad is great to help
I think you worry too much with the gravel. Look at all the weeds you pulled out, they were perfectly fine growing despite the gravel. Just put cardboard down, water it, then soil and compost and let the plants do their thing
