Many, many times people are bullies because they were bullied in their childhood or teenage years, both by classmates and “friends” and by their family. I notice that “different” people tend to be bullied more often (because they’re too short, too tall, wear glasses or something like that) and I think that in the USA this is much more frequent than in Europe. We tend to be more tolerant of others and, although we may criticize or make fun of, it’s much more difficult to get to a bully level.
