  1. Such a pretty yard. A small koi pond would be really soothing and charming! .My hubby built ours. Love it. Actually getting koi out this week for winter. Indoors til Spring 🌱🌼❤

  2. I'm sure it's probably standard now, but make sure you have reinforced glass in your greenhouse if your ever plan to have children. I had a friend who tripped and fell through a pane, similarly I should have the side gate the patio end, a child will love those drainpipe covers lol

  3. I appreciate the frequent posting recently! All your videos are so lovely and cozy 🤍 I’ve been thinking about giving my own garden some tlc and this definitely inspired me to do it! I’m not very knowledgeable about plants, so it’s quite intimidating.

  4. You guys did a great job moving the trees. Fall 🍂 is the perfect time of year to do it.
When I move my plants around
I always sprinkle some bonemeal in the hole with some soil and spray it with water and then put the tree in but because you already planted it , just sprinkle some around the tree trunk and water it , it just helps the roots to strengthen. It will be fine for next year 🤗
    Your yard is breathtaking 😊
    Thanks Madeleine 🌺
    M 🙂

  5. We didn't have a level place to put in our shed so my husband put some boards around the perimeter, tamped down the earth as packed and level as he could get it, then filled with rock and leveled the rock surface in the space, then topped with square concrete pavers. And of course removed the boards. So the shed has a lovely floor inside and has great drainage! Maybe something like that would work for your greenhouse space

  6. Love your garden! I thought it looked so nice without the trellis.

One suggestion for next season, if you like me get overwhelmed and stressed by the whole process of sowing seedlings inside, is to look up things to sow directly in to the veg beds. You get a later harvest but it’s much easier! Like courgettes can be sown directly.

  7. What a lot of work you’ve done, looks beautiful and the plans sound really lovely.
Regarding the veg beds – maybe spare ones make a wildflower bed, for flowers to cut for the house?
So beautiful though and peaceful ❤

  8. I'm afraid the huge rose in the tiny pot is not a good idea, especially because it was in the ground before. The roots need lots of space and it is generally not adviced to transfer plants from a big area into a smaller pot. Maybe you could reconsider that? Your garden is very lovely overall.

  9. You probably know this, I would cut all those spindly roses down to 2-3 feet to promote new growth. I do that with all my roses every late fall and they really flourish in the spring, good luck with all your gardening adventures 😀

  10. I agree with removing the trellis, for all the reasons you stated. If you decide later you want something in that place, there is no reason why you can't. I think you're doing a great job! Gardens take time and evolve. I too am a learning gardener!

  11. I saw somebody on Reddit say they bought a plastic base and then packed it with pea gravel and put their shed on that!

  12. We live on a very hilly property. I have thought about having a greenhouse and how I can put it somewhere without going to too much trouble. I haven’t figured out a way yet. I’m afraid it will be a lot of work and very expensive. My suggestion is put your greenhouse at the bottom of the garden, but lay some pavers down as a walkway to make it inviting so that you want to walk down there.

  13. Beautiful video. It makes me want to ask if you've seen the YouTube channel, "Château de Purnon: Reawakening a French château"? It seems like something you might enjoy!

  14. It is quite a big garden and you are two busy people with active lives, so as to not feel overwhelmed ,this is what I’d think about doing. Scrap the idea of raised beds altogether, just lay the area to lawn and if funds allow in the future, get a robot mower, best invention ever ! Thin out the trees a bit, but don’t move them, they’re too big to survive the move! Keep any flowers right up beside the house area for ease of watering and maintenance. No greenhouse. Keep asking yourselves “ is this going to make my life simpler ?” A neat and tidy area beside the house and a more natural area at the bottom and you will have nailed it!and the bonus will be you’ll have plenty of time to actually sit down and enjoy the garden ! Good luck! X

  15. I think a combination of ferns, hostas and heuchera in that secret area would be lovely as they love shade and would create a little woodland grotto! Greenhouses need a lot of sunlight and I feel your proposed site may be too shaded, just my thoughts. Love your channel xoxo

  16. I'd put the greenhouse at the top of the raised beds, makes more sense and is not much further than your suggestion in the top bit, the other side of the fence

  17. I think the biggest mistake new gardeners make is that they don't take into account the size and shape of the plant/tree they're putting in. Just that one thing will save you loads of work and money. I agree that the lattice made the space behind look separate and unrelated. Much better without it! It's long rectangular shape echos the part of the patio within the sleepers. As for the trees that are not happy, it looks like they may not be getting enough sun. Choose about half of them that you want to keep and either move or take the others out. My last word of advice – if you like your garden to always look very tidy, make it small. But if, like me, you like the half wild, verging on out and out neglect look, you can make it bigger. Over time, you'll find the balance that's right for you. Thanks for all your work to make these videos each week – I can't tell you how much I enjoy them.

  18. i would put wildflowers in the empty beds like cosmos, cornflowers and stuff (depending on how much sun they get) Lovely for the bees and the eyes 😉

  19. What about a bed of asparagus? It is a perennial vegetable. Plant it once and you’re done. Unfortunately it takes until second growing season to harvest.

  20. Everything looks so lovely! Great job and you both worked so hard. Love your beautiful country garden and cozy looking cottage!

  21. Have you considered getting ‘greenhouse’ garden bed covers made for the beds themselves, rather than a full glasshouse? Much more accessible & you can remove them as the plants get larger 😊

  22. Alex really is a natural vlogger his cameo sections are great. Your home is stunning and you both should feel incredibly proud for what you have achieved in 3 years. I find myself coming back to your videos over and over again just because of the calm I feel. Thank you 🥹🥹

  23. Love seeing the updates, ideas and following along with the changes over past several years. For the green house, this may seem out of the box, but could you put it in the area with the fire pit and seating on the patio? In the tour videos you mentioned not using the space much and it would give you a level and easily accessible place for the green house. Easy to grab things for meals too. Love watching you and Alex and seeing your dreams become a reality ❤

  24. Maybe Maddie you could just rid of some of a few of the veg beds? Having them all there is just causing you stress. Just because they’re there doesn’t mean you have to keep all of them. It’s just too much to manage for anyone. Especially once you start having babies. If you keep them all just fill a few with lavender and daisies or plants that take care of themselves
