CHEERS !
i have just built my shed 10×6 no where near the size i wanted but small garden, so i bought an evolution 3×3 gazebo i use this for the big power tools. I uae makita 18 volt tools and if its a thing i need to use once a year i grab the knock offs that use the same batteries. branded tools are for every day use. i love the parkside stuff but cordless is a problem because you never see batteries in store. have you tried the laser level from lidl, i was tempted but i have a dewalt one, but i still want the lidl one as well. great channel keep em coming
Iβve only recently stumbled across you when you did the Dymo Vs Materiol printer which I had done not 3 weeks earlier. I also enjoy the man in the shed attitude with ruff around the edges type editing. Keep it up Rob. ππ»π¦πΊ
I have the ferrex 20/40v stuff. I've done the attic out, built decking around my caravan loads of other jobs , but mainly make sawdust.
It's a shame aldi have lost interest in the tool market. Parkside seem to be taking over the tool side of things. 8×6 shed at the moment. I prefer the videos from this side of the pond they seem more realistic, achievable and authentic
Cracking video, keep it up .
I was recording videos for Instagram on DIY or writing or something. I noticed that I started narrating what I was doing, even when not recording. π
Useful to know about you using the iMovie for editing. I record on the iPhone, which can be useful as you can see what is in frame. For dust extraction, I have lumberjack vacuum which is easy enough to move around, I need to get better hoses though as the flexibility is not great. I may also see about getting a double cyclone from Temu as shavings can block the hose.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the shout out Rob much appreciated. Love the update, been thinking of doing a monthly one myself as there are always more things we work on than we show π i use a cheap wireless mic and have had that when it disconnects and you lose all the sound!!!!! not good lol
Oh and with you with the cheaper tools, get them see if they are usefull if so then but better next time when you know/understand what you need and want from it. If not then you have the tools to expand your projects when planning. As you know Aldi fanboy here lol
Always look forward to your vids π
Fantastic film rob 100% with you shed men are the best full of nolege end experience thanks for the shout out see you soon πππ©π© gotcha
Have you ever had a parkside jigsaw?
That's the only tool ive brought from lidls that was shocking. It had a laser on it to help cut straight. The thing would never cut straight. I adjusted the plate, i tried clamping wood as a guide. Nothing seemed to work. The blade didn't seem to go up and down when you pressed the button. It seemed to go up, left right then down. It was probably a faulty one but it put me off getting a replacement. I got my money back.
But all their other tools have been perfect
Rob I don't know if you have seen in Lidl this week, Parkside batteries and chargers buy one get one free for Β£25.
Great catch up and nice to see how you built your shed/workshop. For tools on a budget I took a different approach. That is I bought a lot of my tools as rusty restoration pieces or sold as spares or repair. With patience you can build a set of first class tools with a pretty small budget (and believe me my budget is almost non-existent). Keep up the good work.
Appreciate the shout out for my channel. 100% itβs a little harder than it looks this YouTube stuff, but worth it in the long runs. But the support and shout outs definitely help. CHEERS
And now sitting at 6.7k subs! LOTS of Sheddies! π€£π well done bud!
I really like your videos, I'd love to have a shed the size of the one of yours, but I'm not sure if my garden is big enough, lol.
Good chat video keep them coming. Looking forward to the next shed space mostly watch replays because of the time difference but have enjoyed a couple interactions when I can't sleep. I do take my hat off to you and other you tubers that put the effort and time into making videos for us to watch thanks. Steve aus.
Hi Rob, Good to see you, this is one workshop community when a man is in his shed/workshop he is at is happiest and we all need that in our lives and this makes us a stronger person. Giving out knowledge and taking in knowledge is what it all about.
All of the above you tube channels is do watch and enjoy from your self to Mark KAP to Brett to Frank Williams to Roger at Garage Workshop to Peter Millard to our Reggy on the Road. Also worth looking at is Epic up cycling , Phill Wyatt , Peter at new Britt workshop and Karl Pope are good channels. Nothing wrong with cheap and cheerful tools Ferrex and Parkside they are great tools for the money I have some Parkside my self but I'm a fan of second hand tools and power tools from the Carboot sales and 95% of my tools are mains powered. As always enjoy your videos on tool reviews ,projects or just waffle it's all great stuff, catch you soon Take care
Another interesting video Rob, just keep em coming. You obviously enjoy shed life so much and it comes over great. Tinkering is what makes the world go round. πππ
Always such good info great to hear you buddyπππ
Hi Rob I just like to say Nice constructive video.but if I left all my bloopers in the video would be to long πππ
I'm a new subscriber to your channel, but its like a breath of fresh air,too many channels showing high end top notch tools, what you do is perfect for the average diy guy, bought a few parkside stuff since watching you,no problems so far, keep up the good work, your channel can only growπ
Nice one rob new subscriber been binge watching your videos have now caught up great stuff mate love it looking forward to your next videos bring it on take care mate atb Chris
I purchase most of my tools from Lidl and Ald,just got the buy one get one free batteries and charger from Lidl, well pleased,I see nothing wrong with them, had a drill from Aldi for over 10years now,not failed,Also but many tools from Temu, good quality, just need to start my L-shaped shed now,no plans, just know how I want it,keep up the good work, your shed is sexy as fudge
I must admit, when I first came across your channel my initial reaction was "mixed".
I do have some Parkside products and mostly they do what they are meant to do. We all have to realise they will do what it is you pay for and will never match the quality and performance of the "named " brands a lot of people will know of and pay so much more for. That has to be the point, accept that most DIYers and homeowners have a limited budget and accept what you get within that.
The bottom line is you get what you pay for and with that in mind, you should know what to expect.
My favourite Parkside tool you recommended is the magnetic tray. I bought one the other day and it is terrific.
I loved your videos showing the extension to your original shed and am so jealous I do not have the actual floor-space to add to my own small shed. It will do for me.
I moved house 2 years ago and miss the garage that I converted into a man-cave and workspace. If I could manage that then your videos make it clear many more can do the same if they try and do the correct things.
My final recommendation is the channel ran by Robin Clevett. He's a top-end and high-performance woodworker and his videos have encouraged me to adopt the common-sense and basic skills that will suit even the most basis of DIYers. He is the best I have come across to put things down to the level I am at and he never puts anyone down in how he comes across. A top top bloke and I recommend you look at his channel too.
All the best…..
Your videos are great love watching them . Iβve got two parkside drills Iβve had for years and use every day out lasted my mates metabo
Cheers Rob, great round-up, keep up the good work, always entertaining !
Did you used to present βstars in there eyesβ ? π just playing, love your channel mate. Allways cheers me up. Iβm a fellow Sheddie ! Love pottering about and having my own space π look forward to your future vids π
Great video as always Rob. I really like your content and look forwards to watching because above all it's honest and it's natural where so many other youtubers heavily edit their content to remove mistakes and bloopers etc and I'm not sure if this is because of pride and the need to look uber (ohhh I just used a cool word on a Saturday) professional or just down to length of content but it can put people off as you feel less than great when you make a mistake on something they made look so easy. but you sharing your bloopers ect makes you more relatable and approachable. Keep up the good stuff and have a great weekend π€
That is one hell of a shed.
I tend to think diyer cheep tools are ideal . If you depend on tools for work you need good tools. I have had cheep tools last me years . I am visually impaired and I love wood work I have made a tombola for a charity I support and I am making a cajon drum and I love parkside and though that I found this great channel so thank you .
Love the channel Rob, just wondering whether you have had any problems with extending your WiFi into your shed – I am having trouble extending mine into my shed and interested to know how to go about it. Keep up the good work!ππ
Hi Rob, just an update on the carbide lathe tools, got a cheap set off eBay and there loads better than the ones supplied worth buying mate in my opinion…
99% of stuff you can build with a saw, set of chisels, and a screwdriver or hammer, everthing else just makes it easier/faster ;p
