Your plants always look so healthy and well producing. My leaves turn brown, wilt, insects and I can't stay on top of it all. On the verge of giving up.😮
It is still hot about 89 to 90 degrees. The yellow squash is really growing but ththey get long as my index finger and die. I look at the zucchini squash anther may a flower. I pull it off to pollinate the yellow squash. It not working. I am going to water now but still struggling with what small flower notches to cut off . One thing I have learn this year first time is to put one squash in a pot. It is not safe now for me to put in the ground. These people over here don't care about there dogs and they stray everywhere. Til I can get everything fenced off. Any comments? Thanks

Turnips. We're using same seeds as last fall. They all stunted for some reason. Mulched with compost and chopped leaves and I left them to winter over. Leaves were first to produce greens for salads and later the pollinators loved their flowers. Hated to pull them for spring transplants. Hubby made a bed elsewhere for turnips and they came up in 3 days. Same seeds. We shall see.
Never give up.
Chard is wonderful stored after blanching. I've even frozen some after washing and air drying no blanching. Same with string beans. Beets and carrots are up. Hubby planted more. We love fresh and pickled beets. Gonna can some and I thought I was done canning after all the tomatoes. I love your channel. You are so encouraging GreenT. with great experience you love to share.
Scallions and onions. Turnips that wintered over looked like lettuce leaves I forgot to mention. Extra onions seeds they say only good for one season. Hubby started them and I plan to plant them for the greens when ready this fall. Three scallions that wintered over had the huge flower on top the bees love. I put the flower heads that developed black seeds in a paper bag for now. Scallions came up with carrots and beets few days ago. Hope this helps someone.

Correction. We picked what I thought was scallions growing in new carrots bed. It's garlic. Last fall we had mole and vole tunnels. I planted small cloves to deter them around edge of garden. I did not water or mulch those. As we dig to plant fall garden finding firm cloves I'm planting them again as we find them. Fun in our small back yard garden.
I do have the broccoli and brussel sprouts but I just have this question how much lime do I put in a 20 gallon grow pot and a 15 grow pot fir the yellow squash, and zucchini is in the 15 gallon grow pot. Thank you always.
Since im in Zone 5 (northern IN) should i direct sow lettuce seeds now or start them in starter cells first if time?
