In this video, I share the 3 fruit trees that changed my life forever. I haven’t always had a passion for gardening and growing food like I do today. It was a slow burn: a flame that grew inside of me over time. These fruit tree species were like throwing gasoline on that fire inside me. What was a modest fire grew into an inferno, and I owe it all to these humble, yet marvelous trees. This video shares my journey from a simple hobby gardener to a man who has found a calling in life to spread the good word of gardening to others. I hope you’ll join me for the ride.

I hope that my love for these fruit trees can ignite the same passion in you so you can turn your yard into a food forest of abundance and live a life of passion and gratitude. I hope this video can inspire you like it has inspired me to grow food with love and care.

  2. I love this❤. I have a question though. Does planting your trees close to the house pose a potential problem to the foundation from the roots in the future?

  3. Hi Anthony. I understand how growing your own food grows on you, but at this time of my life it has not only been a deep love it is also a life saver for me now. I am a 76 year old female. over the years I've had physical problems, I've had Multiple Sclerosis since a teen ager. Now I have 6 pinched nerves in my spine, and on top of those disabling problems I now have Rheumatoid Arthritis. Raising a nice large garden every year has been the main key to keeping me mobile and able to take care of myself. I am now faced with the fact that I am now getting totally disable. If I have to give up gardening I know I am going to waste away and die sooner than I should. I did have a good garden this year, but I am scared of the winter ahead of me. I always loose a lot strength and balance during the winter. If you keep up growing things you too will remain healthier and more physical as you age. Also eating a lot of fruits and vegetables will help keep senior diseases away, so keep on doing what you are doing and good luck. Jessie from Arkansas

  4. This is so relatable and thank you for sharing your story!
I started with trying to figure out how to grow a lime tree in the winters of Oregon. Now I’m dahlia obsessed and this year starting my first winter garden. Thank you for all your videos!

  5. Not sure if you're going to see this or not, but you might get a kick out of growing culinary mushrooms. Look into it. Might fill in some of the cracks in your growing season where there's not much else going on.

  6. Never thought about growing figs, I thought they tasted like snot. If there are varieties that taste like strawberries and peaches, I am in.

  7. I think I purchased my first fig trees in 2012 or 2013 and my first citrus – also from Stan Mckenzie in 2014 or 2015. Due to moving because of a military career I have had to start over with my orchard but I am now in coastal NC and have satsumas, a Meyer lemon, a Calamansi, kumquats, several figs, plums, and other fruit. I am going to try Avocados and persimmons next.

  8. TY for this video coming from someone w depression & is new to gardening. So getting some of these. And lol to “mommy will never know” 😂

  9. It sounds like the 3P's healed you, your Passion for growing fruit, your Persistence for what you can grow has given you a new Poupous in life. Thank you for sharing. I too, love lemon, fig, & all the others we grow 🙂 I often use gloves, as there can be things in the earth that can harm you, & some of the chemicals… good for the plants, but not for us…. stay safe 😉

  10. You had the intellect & courage to make the changes in your life to live a full & healthy lifestyle – this life is not a reversal & you get one shot at it – so make the most of it – well done & love your work 👍

  11. Been watching your channel for a while and I just wanted to comment and say that this is one of my favorite videos from you. Thanks for sharing your story.
