I had to look up the difference between Queens Ann Lace and that Boneset. Close, but not at all! Very pretty!! I don’t have either, but sure wouldn’t mind 😊

I’m in Tennessee a few counties south of you and my plant app will sometimes show “tall boneset” but sometimes show it as “white snakeroot”, which I believe is poisonous. So I just stay away from this plant altogether to play it safe.
Its so awesome to see the gardens in the east end of the country. I live near where you used to live. Its not easy to find books on foraging here because there aren't many plants like mushrooms and herbs that grow wild. But i am happy that we can grow just about anything especially "the miracle tree" Moringa. They say you can live on that alone. Since learning about it ive noticed it every where. Love your videos Kaye ❤❤❤❤ you have a beautiful property. Say hello to your kitties 😺😸😻😺😸😻😽😽😽😺😼😸
Loved the information Kaye, I'm always learning from you ,thank you for all your hard work, prayers for your family, love is the key, always 💞 🌻🌹🍂🌿🍁🌾
I might have some late boneset and I have lots of ironweed, but I have mostly yellow flowered weeds (ain't I lucky), most of them very tall. You'll have to identify them from your app the next time you are over here.
The goldfinches are really going after my sunflowers that went to seed! There were always ironweeds in my daddy's pastures. I loved them! I was always picking flowers for my mom, but I had to ask for the pruners to pick them for her! I always put them with goldenrod and/or black-eyed susans! I got really excited about 4 years ago when I thought I had boneset. No, it was white snakeroot! Looks similar! ETA: Usually, the monarchs like my parsley, and I am always happy to share, because there's enough for all of us. This year, I also planted several fennel plants, but only one survived the hot sun. It grew huge, and I thought I would save the seeds instead of eating the bulb. One day, I went down to check the garden, and found SEVEN monarch caterpillars on it. Eating my flowers! I thought, Oh well. We don't have enough monarchs, I'll take one for the team. But they left me 3 nice flowers! ❤🦋
Kaye, Good to see you joyful and unburdened with the trouble of the world. God knows our place of joy is the paradise of the garden. Hard to believe it's already time for the garden to shut down. Seems like it was just yesterday the early Spring rains were threatening the new plantings. Another season, another year. Last year it seems like the Winter went fast too and there wasn't enough time to get all the things done over the Winter break before Spring was rushing in again. Season's come, seasons go, and Kaye's hair continues to grow!
I love our native plants too! I would love to make a meadow with Anise Hyssop, etc all the way down both sides of our drive, one day…: I need more time! Angie
Thank you for this relaxing and very informative video. Kind regards, Marie "HTW"
Reedy and I are loving the videos on native plants, herbs, weeds!
Beautiful flowers on the Late Boneset, and Ironweed.
❤🤠❤🐱🐱🐱🐱❤
They're beautiful. I especially live the purple flowers in the iron weed. I wish I had access to some.
Thanks for sharing about the pollinator flowers. Very cool and love to see the bees enjoying them. 🐝
HOMEGROWN NATIONAL PARK is on youtube and FB if anyone wants to learn more about which natives are a keystone for your area. Late Boneset is new to me, thanks!
I have ironweed growing in a bucket. I will try and save some seed !! I bought it at an Audaboun society tour we took this spring in Tulsa ok. They had an abundance of wild and native plants there that feed the bees and birds.
I'm glad to see you are ok kaye !!!!
you don't want periwinkle either
Really enjoyed this one! Love the fall blooming, wildflowers. The iron weed with the late boneset would be awesome to look at. Another fall favorite of mine, goldenrod, bumblebees, and honeybees love it this time of year… beautiful shot of the goldfinch with the purple ironweed. If you try saving the seeds to start your own, they may need a cold stratification. Thanks for sharing Kaye 💚
