Thank you Aaron for sharing your experience with anxiety – I would NEVER have guessed that about you! It's nice to hear successful people share stories of their human-ness; it helps our own challenges feel normal and manageable.
Aaron Dream stream……..videos- putting the drone up 6am, noon and evening??? That would be fun to watch it develop. I have some some that Greg or Laura posted on facebook(?). Fun Love to see how thing grow. Thank you for letting us into your world.
The first book I read by Kristin Hannah was "Winter Garden." It was an amazing story, and like a story within a story – I loved it, and consequently have read many of her books. My hubby & I are both avid readers & book collectors. Luckily we enjoy most of the same books. The last few years I've read many books on women's roles in WWII – fascinating and educational.
Our Hostas are ridiculously huge. They are also bullet proof, you can hack leaves off any time you like, take out chunks and plant them elsewhere at any time in the season, it wont harm a hosta. I'm in Michigan, zone 6, but humid. The root balls get huge, like you need that big ole tree scooper to get them out of your garden. It took me 3 days to dig the last one out. For a bag of topsoil I'll give chunks of Hostas to anyone who wants to dig them up. That and Mums, they exploded in my garden. I have clumps of mums that are 4 ft around looking like shrubs. Planted last fall in fist sized clumps. They love the soil here I guess.
You two are so cute and I think if I was your neighbor I would volunteer to help on your property. It adds so much value to the area… and I couldn’t resist the gardening education that I would get just being there! Have you considered putting the Pear Espalier against one of the walls of the new red barn. I have a memory of a series of Espalier’d trees against a barn and it was so cool that I’ve remembered the visual in my minds eye. Might be fun.
LAURA AND AARON…there's a great resource out there about kids issues like anxiety.. watch Gordon Neufeld he's got some great insights on children and their behaviors. It's a series of videos.. you may have to search a bit but the knowledge he brings is totally worth knowing. Very helpful.
@garden.escapades the nursery i worked for, used to order them from a company in california called Artisan Trellis. I assume they service the west coast area (we are in Arizona) and wholesale only, but a local nursery may be able to special order one for you
Can’t wait to see the finished Dream Stream! Question, as someone who enjoys just listening to you two every Sunday, would you ever consider uploading the recap video audio to Podcast platforms? Would love to listen along in the car.
I live way out in the country, we have no lights on at night . The stars are brilliant! I’d sure need to adjust if I’d have close neighbors! Flashing lights would be annoying!
I too love Kristen Hannah's books except Four Winds. Did you like it? I found it very sad. We grew up that poor at times, often hungry and sometimes homeless, picking fruit. I wondered how people that didn't live that life liked it.
Happy Sunday GA Family 💐 Sweet Samantha a big comforting hug to all dealing this.🤗. It’s usually a phase. My nephew went thru this. You are wonderful parents.
Reading the replies and your mentioning anxiety ~ yes, we all have anxiety when we settle down with our coffee each morning and Laura and Aaron aren't in the room. ❤❤❤
Hey Laura , love the show and all the inspiration you give everyone . You were talking about mums I live in Ohio zone 6 . I’ve grown mums here commercially, and for myself. The Hardy Mums do really well planted in the ground here in Ohio , I do pinch mine back more then you did . The more you pinch them the fuller the mums are . . then they Are stronger and they don’t flop . Mine come back every year . After about 5 years some start not to look as well . But they are beautiful for fall color in your landscape . Put they do need a bit of extra care to get them full . Have a great day
I would hate to live where next door to someone who had the bright, flashing lights with blaring music! I love Christmas lights, but I don’t like tacky!
I found my metal arbor at a home show. The kind they have a expo centers. The guy I purchased from makes them. They might sell on-line now. I bought mine at least 20 years ago.
I have been so excited by the dream stream and practically holding my breath waiting for it. So glad that the time has finally arrived and we will see it develop. Love all the large trees you are planting and I'm sure the neighbors do too. I agree with Aaron about the blinking lights as that would be a nuisance to those nearby, and I know that blinking lights will badly affect anyone with certain neurological diseases. Totally understand Samantha's current phase of anxiety. I still remember a time when I was five years old that a neighbor told me I would get married and move away from my mother. That was so distressing that I hid in my mother's closet hugging her picture and praying that God would never let that happen. My mother found me there crying until she assured me that I could always live with her unless it was my choice to move away when I got older. Laura, keep doing what you are doing with Samantha; you are such a wonderful mother by keeping her anxiety at bay. God bless you and your family.
The town of Lynden Washington does lovely street hanging planters, and christmas tree shaped 3-4 rings high that they FILL will the supertunias. It is glorious at high summer when they fully filled out and cover the entire framework of the structures. Smaller street planters, smaller hanging baskets, but those big things are absolutely beautiful.

67 years old and I still suffer from anxiety. Thank God I have gardens and friends in the growing world or I would never leave my house.
My daughter was the same. Give space and love is exactly the right way 💜
Two new words defined! 😂 do you ever play the NYT games; Wordle and Connections?

How about a blooper reel with plants that died, ECT. Funny things.

Your neighbors are so fortunate. Imagine the world with more considerate people like Laura! Do unto others as you want them to do unto you! ✨🌲✨

Some day…….when you've finally run out of projects or planting areas……you could terrace the back slope, like the Italian countryside 😉
Wonderful long video!❤❤❤
Laura I totally agree with you about BARKING dogs!! Ugh. So rude..
I love how Laura is “trying to be conscientious,” of her neighbors. What an excellent example she is!

The more organic matter is in your soil, the more it will break down and sink.
What bushes do you suggest to just plant and let then do their thing?

It took me over an hour to plant 3 small hostas in the midst of my pine trees, between roots and rocks. And that was WITH an auger!
I bought one of the lit maple trees from Amazon. It was delivered yesterday so I get to unbox today!
