After Years of Complaints, HGTV plans to Brings Back Fan-Favorite show. #hgtv
Fans of HGTV have long expressed dissatisfaction over the network’s recent programming, citing an overemphasis on competitive reality shows and a departure from the practical, educational content that once defined it.
There's too many ppl who have too many shows. The property bros, Allison Victoria, all the Christian couples. Ppl want to see what they can do without all these high end remodels. We understand u have sponsors like Sherwin Williams, etc. but it's no fun anymore
Was an HGTV addict, but with the “reality” change, I haven’t watched in a few years. If they go back to education, let us know. I’m sure a lot of us will return.
Love this! It is about time these networks listen to their viewers. I wish some other networks would follow. Tired of the competition shows, bring back the basics and good solid instruction.
I remember the days of the garden shows and also wondered how they could continue to get away with excluding them based on the channel’s name. Yay to bringing them back!
The husband/wife-real estate agent/contractor team format has gotten quite tired and needs to stop because it is getting BORING. The changes in the housing market must be slowing down the production of these similar type scenarios, so what else is out there to show to the HGTV viewers to keep interest in watching?
However, I enjoy watching Mika and Brian on 100 Day Home, Christina Hall and her "on the coast" fare, and Alison Victoria in Windy City Rehab. I'll watch Alison because the Chicago suburbs is my place of birth and and former home for 36 years, her high end work is good, but most of us cannot afford those million dollar homes in all places, especially the North Side of Chicago. She also has a little bit of drama that I can do without.
I’m so over HGTV. I never watch anymore because of the reality content, which we all know, has nothing to do with reality. HGTV needs to go back to its roots. ESPECIALLY Curb Appeal. I got SO Much out of that show. Then they cancelled it. The network should be called ‘ the Property Bros. Open Concept Channel.’ Boring. Over. Done. they should be embarrassed to continue doing what they’re doing. So should HGTV. Total lack of imagination, which is ironic considering their mission.
This is good news. I quit watching HGTV a long time ago. Like others, I miss the down to earth shows. Things I can relate to. Design on a dime, Designing for the sexes, Decorating Cents, etc. I miss those shows.
Please remove Christina Hall. I used to love HGTV at first, where I could learn how to decorate and fix my place on an average person's budget. I stopped watching when my therapist helped me discover the root of my depression 😢😮😅 lol 😆. Please go back to what made HGTV the channel everyone loved. Even better, please get rid of the people who changed it to what it is now.
I complained when they discontinued "Gardener's Diary" with Erica Glasener. I tried to buy the series and find episodes on youtube but was unavailable. I just watch gardener's on youtube now, they lost me as a viewer with that. I do love Ben and Erin Napier, though, I watch them.
I think the show was called "Free Style." They didn't spend any money, just rearranged furniture and "shopped the house" for items they already had, to redecorate! I loved it!
Yes! Tired of watching competitions. And shows that the general population cannot afford. Curb appeal was great. Loved it! The only show I watch is HomeTown.
I would love to see more gardening shows and garden designs on HGTV, the only show I don’t mind is lottery dream home, the others are repeats or just bland and boring
So tired of the competition and reality shows and not just on this network. Everything is a competition show now, no matter if it’s the food channel, style channel or this one. Bring back the basic shows again, design on a dime, gardening shows etc.
It’s about time! I’m not interested in spending more than I originally paid for my house to remodel my kitchen. I want something I can afford and can do myself.
I left because I don’t like competitive design shows. I acquired real estate from watching the older shows on hgtv. I sold one property during open house within one hour .I had three contracts. Home design. Home sales. Those were my favorite topics

I don’t like any of the shows they have now. So don’t watch it.
Hoping this comes back on. I stopped watching HGTV years ago.
Loved Curb Appeal!❤
Put the "G" back in HGTV. Yard Crashers and Desperate Landscapes! Ahmad, Matt, Jason every day of the week.
Curb Appeal! Yay!!!
I miss Boise Brothers
I really miss Lynette Jennings show…..Christopher Lowell as well! They would show awesome designs and then show homeowners how to get that design!
Designing for the Sexes!

I really hope they are serious about revising their programs. I rarely watch the junk that is currently showing.
Hurray! CA was a favorte for many of us.

I hate how they have most new shows on streaming only.
Property Bothers need to just stick to their first shows. All these others are boring.

Yay, Yay, yay!….Curb Appeal was THE Show!
Reality tv has dumbed down Americans (and that was already a low bar).
They use to have shows on crafts and sewing. Miss those types of shows. All about remodeling gets boring when they are reruns.

I really liked “Love it or List it!” ☺️

I miss Weekend Warriors!
That’s why I quit watching Food Network. Too many competition shows.
Good! Sick and tired of the competition BS. Next should be Food Network & Cooking Channel. Same BS.
I do miss old shows for sure.Curb appeal was in my backyard SF Bay Area at least some of the shows. This is a good idea.
That is why I quit watching.
Yes, Bring Back Curb Appeal!!! Anyone else remember 'Designing For The Sexes" – used to love that one too!
I loved the old HG TV. But ever since it became the dreadful open it up and paint it white channel, forget it.

About time, now let's do the same with TLC. So sick of the same o same BS on these channels.
I love the design shows, like Design on a Dime
Please, please get rid of the drama nonsense! Just good, reasonable content focused on the end goal and not drama!
My favorite was when they showed different interiors. It gives you great ideas and you can use your own budget to get similar looks
It’s about time! I’m not interested in spending more than I originally paid for my house to remodel my kitchen. I want something I can afford and can do myself.
better shows on youtube
