What’s going on, y’all?! Jason here at Cog Hill Farm, and we are finally starting a project we’ve been putting off for way too long – our Backyard Kitchen Garden, or as we call it, the Alabama Potager Garden! 🏡🌱
In this video, we’re planning and prepping the layout of the garden, fencing, and more. This is going to be one of our biggest projects since the pasture fencing! We’re not stopping until it’s finished, no matter how long it takes.
We’ve made a few changes along the way, like including the greenhouse in the fenced area to keep the dogs out, and we’re thinking about bringing in some Silkies to roam around once the garden is done. Should we hatch more chickens or buy hens? Let us know what you think!
Plus, we’re adding a beautiful wrought iron gate at the front for a stunning entrance. We’re also setting up raised beds and laying out posts for the fence. Stay tuned as we dive into this massive project and give you a tour of our progress!

If they are real wrought iron, they never need paint! Also, it should never rust.

That's a Nice Kabota Side By Side. There Like 15 to 20 Grand New and With The New Electric 3 Wheeler, That's Awesome 👍😁👍
Love Brooks chicken math. 3 really means 13.
Make something that looks nice to camouflage the gas tank. It will look nice from your garden. Enen, if it is just one side, then plant your favorite rose. 🌺❤🌺
I sure wish you would get a couple Goliath hens. I know you would enjoy the Goliath rooster but they can get quite large. The hens would lay some lovely eggs though. How are you keeping the ends together in the raised beds? I love the raised beds. They are so much easier to work in for people who may have arthritis or other limitations. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experiences with us.
I cannot wait to see those gates up !
We're still waiting to see Mrs. Cog's catification of the barn area with some hammocks, shelves and bridges. They do have plenty to play on but it would be cute.
I love your chicken math, 3 is 13 🤣
