  1. yeah, it's such a change to how the movie's teaser feels. Having the directors talk about the ideals, some plot elements and present some traits of the characters really changes things up. People could only see what was on the surface and it was really feeling like a cookie-cutter formula from the teaser. Things like Jack Black being super duper into minecraft and representing the vanilla game, the intent behind "modding" the game, those things are difficult to pick up on in a trailer of any kind.

This genuinely sold me into watching the movie. Its interesting how hyper-commercialized products like trailers created to improve sales tend to have a negative impact instead of a positive one. Perhaps it's the product, the movie is simply difficult to reduce down into a trailer. Maybe the entire process behind trailers, the production of hype, has gotten overdone. Maybe it's just a bad trailer. Maybe it's part of their marketing strategy to create outrage.

Anyways the down-to-earth presentation of it really makes me want to see it now.

  2. Also, about redstone.

Most of the deep rooted redstone community are generally against most changes. A lot of the changes Mojang propose tend to dumb down redstone a dramatic amount. It's amazing, genuinely fantastic for people trying to get into it. But for those who have invested much into redstone, a lot of it just doesn't feed into emergent complexity. So much of it kills the niche aspects of redstone: both in the redstone and minecart experimental changes.

I was looking into the scicraft server and people were genuinely really upset, even after further changes happened. For a lot of redstoners, as you well know, they seek for niche interactions, and as of late, Mojang has had an unfortunate tendency of smoothing out any such properties from their features.

  3. The Pale Garden, specially it's sky would fit really well with GeminyTay's Hermitcraft season X base

  4. 1. XP is blood, this is now canon
    2. I'm so used to seeing high-energy, on-for-the-camera Vu like we get for e.g. Minecraft Monthly that it feels really weird seeing him more reserved introducing the movie coverage lol
    3. "Should I start doing my tutorials like this?" I know the question's tongue in cheek, but just saying, the movie releases right after April Fool's next year..

  5. Excited to try the new pale garden, but on my 13k+ day old long term World am going to have to travel thousands and thousands of blocks to find some unexplored chunks …

  6. It blew my mind that bedrock didn't have hardcore for 13 years, a rather easy to implement feature, but we aren't getting features in java, because they would be difficult to implement in bedrock.

  7. I imagine snapshots happening this week, and depending on how content the players are and complete this drop is, 1.21.## should come out on December with them probably showing a snapshot of a new drop alongside the update

  8. Joel mentioned it only looking like night time. That’s because they said that when you’re in the pale garden it actually changes the way the sky looks from the inside looking out.

  9. I am glad they are not doing a mob vote. I know this game is really player developed to a degree but I feel like in the last few years they have given the player too much say. It just divides the community. There is nothin wrong with just say, “hey look at this amazing new thing we have for you!”

  10. Sorry I have a lot of opinions. LOL. I think this new mob doesn’t fit the paradigm of “mobs have to drop something to be useful”. And that’s 💯 ok. I think it’s great that they are changing that up. I love that this mob IS the drop! If I’m understanding things correctly if you silk touch the creaking heart you can obtain what is essentially a mob you can place anywhere, anytime and it’s tethered to this block. That’s a new very cool mechanic. Why do all mobs have to fit the normal paradigm of if “I kill it I get something”.

  11. I have an idea for building with the creaking heart: you can probably get the particles to always be there when you activate the heart and then have the creaking spawn (or transport it in a way?) in a specific spot and put lava at their feet
