Bok Choy, Totsoi , swiss card and kale are my favorites. Never have success with spinach.
I love to eat the beet greens! Roasted beets are great in Mediterranean salads as well as pickled beets in Greek salads.

Wat am I doing wrong I tried to grow spinach and it’s just not germinating
@Jerra's Garden I have 2 of your piracicabas started inside from seeds in early August which are now about a foot tall outside in big pots – will they produce broccoli by Thanksgiving do you think? I'm in 7A. Here's hoping Helene isn't messing you and family up!! Great tutorial and reminder video, I'm planting a lot of what you mentioned here starting this week! I love to roast beets and make hummus with them. The color is a spectacular magenta and can be topped with pistachios for an elegant appetizer for company.
Great video. I sowed seeds today. I don’t like the beets but I decided to grow a few this season to juice. I have been juicing fruits and veggies for awhile.

Hi Jerra! Your tomatoes have already been transplanted? I am zone 10a and we still have days of 90 degrees so I was waiting until the end of October, when the average temp is below 85 degrees, to transplant my tomatoes. Is this correct?
I am in South Florida, Zone 10b and I didn't start my tomatoes until mid October last year and I still had months of production. This year I started my seeds on Sept 18, but lost all of my seedlings when Helene came through. Just started them again today.
I love to juice beets, also. I juice the entire beet plants (leaves, stems, bulbs/roots) with carrots & some type of greens (usually kale or spinach).
My sister does the same, but adds apples, so her kids will drink the juice. I think it’s plenty sweet with just the carrots, though.
I never cook beets, so I’m looking forward to seeing everyone else’s recipes.
Honestly summer heat has killed so much and today im planting swiss chard, bok choi, kohlrabi transplants and seeding some others. I feel like a crazy failure, but fall comes and beautiful days then I'm filled with hope. I'll be getting a seed list together today too. 😊

Hi Jerra! I started bok choy, chard, and lettuce in seed trays the beginning of this month at your suggestion. How big do they need to be before transplanting outside?
I planted tatsoi, 3 different types of leaf lettuces, tennis ball lettuce, brocoli, tomatoes,eggplant, peas and cucumbers today. My longbeans are still going and still waiting for my roselle so I can plant out my other bed.
