  1. Oh Linda, I love your two new ideas for the cottage. I vote a big YES on both ideas. Hope they will come into fruition sooner than later. 😃👍🏻

  2. Linda there is an app called picture this that will tell you what each plant is and if it is poison etc. try it, I think you will like it.

  3. Linda you were talking about painting that door, and you were concerned about the kick plate. I installed self-adhesive kick plates on my doors in my house. Unfortunately I don't remember what website I got them from but they were pretty reasonably priced and they come with this stuff that you peel off and they look like they are metal and they come in different finishes. So maybe if you just go online and look up self adhesive kick plates you might be able to find the size you need and the color.

  4. Linda …. I dont know the structure of your existing wall dividing the livingroom & kitchen, but you might consider pocket doors or "barn" doors where you could open or close off the passage-way as much as you want, whenever you want….. and which would have the small, divided windows in them to let the light through. I have a 1920s home with original pocket doors and just love them, not only for their look, but also their function.

  5. I love your seasonal decorating segments. Thank you to both you and John. Linda, please remind of the name of the pianist you often listened to last Christmas season.

  6. I was taught in flower design school to disguise the cut ends…brown or black marker on the cut area makes them nearly invisible and doesn't distract from your composition. Try it and see what you think!😊

  7. When I heard, probably a year or two again, that brown was coming back, I was firmly against adding it to my decor. Fast forward to today, and I find it is creeping into every room….so I was happy to hear John say he's using it too.

  8. John is the best guest!!!! I wish I could meet him and pick his brain. Great video! Love your ideas today, Linda. ❤

  9. John thank you for giving me permission to do a casual arrangement on my very traditional table. Such a simple idea and yet so brilliant! I love these chats 🎉

  10. I would get someone to build me a half wall with Sheetrock and then have several shelves that extend to top of doorframe. Perfect place for plants or treasures. You can choose how much visibility you want into kitchen and could remove things if you wanted to see straight out of front windows in case of snow to watch.

  11. I love your home! I think the change to the front door would be great and the change to the front room with a divided door is more in keeping to the style. I think replacing the hinges to a brass on the door would be in order. Maybe a more pronounced doorknob in the period of the house as well. Good Luck! Salvage is always good!!

  12. I love color of the month but I just do different colors each season and then change it the next year. So the fall my color is Carmel and rust 💛🧡🤎

  13. Hi from Annie, glass sliding doors great for kitchen privacy. front door more of a straw color than white….still blends in softly.
