It’s the end of summer and the nip of autumn is in the air, so before all the leaves are off the trees; and the seed heads stand high in the fields—let’s go on an end of summer garden and landscape tour at Flock.

Just an observational note: The other day I did notice two of our bumble bees on the simple flowered dahlias, which I was pleased about. But double flowers—whether they are native or not, do not attract any pollinators, as there isn't anything morphologically on the plant to pollinate. Thought I would share my new observations with folks.
Dahlias are usually v attractive to pollinators – but only the singles, not the first white one you showed. White blooms are the least popular. Try pink or purple singles.
Isn't a "walk path" just a path?
I now mow the natural areas near my house in western NC due to chiggers biting so aggressively. Do you have to deal with that? I want to seed more of the mowed pastures that used to be used for livestock.
Absolutely beautiful! I truly enjoy your content.
Danielle from YouTube Northlawn Flower Farm has developed seeds from a single flowered dahlia which she named Saving Grace. Pollinators just love this flower and I think the seeds are for sale.
Hat's off ! Congratulations !!
Great knowledge and hardwork turning in to beautiful landscape . By the way nice music . And Thank you for preserving this beautiful earth…
32:23 I think you have a problem… now your golden rode will suppress everything else…
Such an inspiration! The music and drone footage take this video over the top. As always your knowledge and passion are captivating!!
Camera work is pure magic 💫 same as the audio chosen 👍🏼
Beautiful transformation of the land, thanks for sharing!!!
Absolutely stunning! Thank you for sharing
Agree with you on dahlias. Not worth it when other plants are so much more valuable. Bees do visit single bloom Dahlias. We try to never buy double flowers. Snow flurry may well be my favorite native cultivar. Even when not in bloom we enjoy its unique look. It’s always covered with mostly native bees when it blooms. Really enjoyed the video today. Thanks
You are getting tan lines. I would go up to spf 50 if you are not there already
Hello Summer! Could I ask if you mulch the pollinators garden in winter, or the plants are doing great during the winter without any extra blanket to protect them from the snow? Thanks so much in advance!
SRO, I heard through a friend that you were a model. Geez…I see why. You are “una chica muy guapa.”(With all due respect to you or your romantic interest).
And still enjoying all of your content. Peace to all the Flock.
💚🌼💚🌼
I love this so much – your tours are always inspiring!
What song is at the 21:38 mark? Great music.
I just started watching your channel when you bought the land, so my introduction to the space was very much in its blank slate phase. (Remember all that weed fabric?? 🤣) And just from the opening footage, I was felt like, "Wow, they're here. They made it!" And in just a few years it's been incredible to see the amount of progress you've made, to see how far you've come and all your accomplishments. It's such hard work but you're getting the land back to a place it deserves.
In the midwest, many prairies are maintained through fire, where every few years a burn is done to suppress trees from coming through, break up the thatch and reinvigorate growth. It can also be a tool for invasive since many don't have survival mechanisms to survive fire. Do you think perscribed burns would help with some of your invasive grasses?
You guys are so smart, you have such beautiful land, you're taking such good care of the animals and pollinators! I'm an esthetician and it's hard to watch you with your sunburn! Your skin is so beautiful. Please wear SPF. I'm saying this bc I care. Love your channel.
I've been following yous from the start, and seeing this tour, the lighting, the camera work, the progress, it really moved me. It made me cry. I love, love, love it. I also work on those same kind of projects, and this keeps me inspired beyond compare. Thanks.
Beautiful

BEAUTIFUL❣️ How do you get rid of reed canary grass?

❤
Gosh! What a magical place! Thanks for sharing your gorgeous surroundings with us.
Flock tours are where I get to see all my favorite plants in one place! 😍🤩 Getting to see them throughout the different seasons and how they interact with eachother is super helpful. Thanks for posting these videos!
Hi Summer, I wonder if you can provide some insight on how you make the determination to pull something like the kalmia. I have a latifolia that has been substantially browsed, but still appears to be putting out growth. Is it more of an aesthetic motivation to replace it, or do you wait until the plant is actually dead before you choose to remove it? Thanks!
how many acres you have there
😍😍😍
What flower is at 11:53, hot pink?
I moved to a new home and started my pollinator garden the problem is my yard is full of backyard lizards and they eat everything including the bees and butterflies. Not sure what to do to reduce the number of lizards and be able to have bees and pollinators in my garden. 😔
Meadows have more cool season grasses and are generally lower, prairies have more warm season grasses, these are ecosystems if they are human formed they can be called “stylized” (meadows/prairies)or prairie “inspired” like Piet Oudolf gardens
Love your music
I love the little islands of grass
What's that song at minute 11?
