Hi Luke – I'm up here in the UP, Zone 5b. No frost as of yet (quite warm, still). I just ordered all of the radish seeds you recommended, but now I'm wondering if it's too late to sow them when they arrive and they won't have time to germinate before first frost. Okay to sow them at the start of October, even if we have a light frost? Thanks! This is all great new info for me.

😂😂😂 If you've never smelled rotting radishes.. You'll only do that once.
I buy bags of deer food plot seed mixes to use for a cover crop and they use tiller radish, among other things. Perfect mixes, readily available and affordable.
This is so cool. Luke when i planted my dikan radishes for fall harvest, i ended up having a package or two spill in my seed packet.😮 I scattered it all over my garden and they have been growing great. I am harvesting some to make spicy radishes for my neice. What a blessing this spilled seeds have become. 😊 thank you for sharing your knowledge and wisdom on gardening. ❤😊

Is a cover crop better than a generous mulch layer?
Radishes yum 😋, I'd imagine they'll also help protect bare soil from sun 🌞 .
Should you use a coverplant if you plant onions?. You wont be able to till the soil in spring since there is the onions in there… better not maybee.
Can you still or is advisable to put layer of mulch leaves over at very end of year even with planting of radishes?
