In this episode of Garden Talk, I interview Autopotamus. He has been gardening for 6 years and is well-known for growing massive autos, some yielding well over a pound, and that’s what we get into in today’s episode. I pick his brain to find out exactly what he does to grow massive autos. What type of plants do you like to grow? Kale, lettuce, broccoli, tomatoes, oranges, grapes, apples, potatoes, house plants, let us know in the comments section below. If you enjoyed this video please click that thumbs up button 🙂

OK so he does the same thing everyone does. Coco with frequent watering. Solid plan… that's why everyone does it. 🙂
Awesome garden talk 🌿 TFS!
Haha! To add to 7:20 ish, big plants and a big animal.
40:17 💯👌👍❤️
This guy is the best, no bullshit wife's tales
A pound per auto sounds like a lot of mids
I’m obsessed with autoflowers and get clowned for it many times in grow groups, I tell people you can consistently get 1 lbs perplant everytime and they call me a liar now we got people posting videos, listen autos is a skill gap beyond measure it’s why I’m attracted to them, if you fuck up anypoint ur hit, photos you can fuck everything up and still get 1 pound, I’ve grown photos since I was 12-13 years old that summer was my first time seeing a real plant , all other times were just buds, I was hooked, glad to see people comming around to autos, you don’t need separate tents you can have multiple plant stages in one tent and harvest ap every 90-120 days
I was thinking bout auto pot but everyday i check my ph its gone up and i have to ph down before water 🙄 how do i keep it stable
I just don’t like the bud structure of most autoflowers. I just finished some Strawberry Gorilla and its structure was ok and it was pretty hard hitting. But compared to my 9 Ethos photos I just harvested not even in the same galaxy in every aspect. I have 5 Mephistoreos running now and they smell amazing but super small and again a little loose bud structure compared to solid photos. To each his own obviously but im in the “photos are better” camp and I have grown some pretty impressive autos.
I like this guy. Yeah, I don't do all that complicated nonsense, and I get massive yields 😂
19:33 I like interacting with my plants. Hand watering allows me to check for issues daily. Everything else is automated. Vevosun complete grow system, and I bought their 5-gallon automated humidifier. I use fox farm soil and Fox Farms nutrients and haven't had any issues yet. The only things I need to do is water, prun, and refill the humidifier.
Nobody really cares about weight… We care about quality. I'd rather yield 10 oz of fire fire fire than 26 oz lardlf doo Doo.
AutoPot USA is def the way2go.
I use the system and it's brilliant.
What is the autopot set up that Linh uses.
he's a good grower but he's obviously full of S when he talks about darkness time. it's proven times and times that darkness is important for all forms of life on this planet. it's been proven that people living in areas where sun doesn't fully go down, they have issues and have to take medical actions to live well. as well as creating by themselves that necessary darkness. quality of sleep is impacted by the level of light around you. so yeah, this dude grows well but he should stick to talk about the plant and nothing else.
Back when I started growing(early 90's) the amount of jail time you would get was based on the number of plants. We would grow giant plants with lbs of flowers but no way would I go back to growing 3 plants. Cut your veg time in half and grow more plants with better flowers. Cheers
Love this episode, thank you both for a solid listen and watch 🙏
Part 2 please and thank you
Wow, fantastic guest! Such an informative interview, thanks!
Why TF would anyone turn a photoperiod line into an auto flower😂 if you get that weight from an auto you could get even more from photos. Dark period is essential and it saves electricity autos are BOOF
@ 13:00 Ive never bothered with measuring the amount of light but I do hang a string with marks every 6 inches so I can have an approximated distance from the canopy.
Part 2
All I can think is that you're an idiot comparing mycorrhizae to beneficial bacteria that you're also using wrong
It seems to me like this option is akin to wading ankle deep into the water, then walking back out. If you've come this far, just go hydro. At that point, you're clearly familiar with the basics of horticulture, so may as well get serious and optimise the potential of this plant. Once the initial system is established, DWC and RDWC are among the easiest, most reliable ways of growing…as you fellas know.
Living soil or nothing.
Say no to bottles. Just no. Take a step back. You are growing a plant. plants grow in soil. Brawndo has what plants want.
2.2 EC at seedling is wild. I need to experiment with this
edit: also definitely part 2 would be great!
I like all kinds of plants, especially the ones with flowers and/or fruits. And buds ofcourse!
I honestly feel that it is close to impossible to over water in coco. I had a two week old seedling that I messed up and loaded to much nutrients in the coco so I flushed it for a week straight about a gallon a day or more to bring down ec it did not die it flourished after down. Now if you just let your pot sit in all the runoff I feel that's where you'll run into problems.
did he mention his environment? what temp and rh? what dli
thanks
Def need a part two!
I have done 2 auto grows. My most previous grow I ended up with 465 grams after trimming 5 plants. I just wish auto smoke was better.
As a guy that lives in the the backwoods of bumfuk nowhere in Australia I can tell you tips and methods from other countries really don't work in different countries climates leaving unsuspecting growers going down the wrong garden path, therefore nowadays I take each information with a Grain of salt..
Nothing new.
Pump the nuets and lights for bigger yield. Same thing for the last 40+ years.
Living soil needs to rest, the only time a plant exudes to the soil, is at night.
I'm getting the autopot😊 system from Indoor Gardens on Saturday. In three days and I can't wait
Does anybody reading this know about growing autos outside? I always read about them being used inside only
You can pull 12 to 14 ounces easy with MSNL Granddaddy Purp AutoFlower seeds in coco with the Lucas formula. 1 pound autos in hydro are reachable to the with same formula with the low Ryder #2 strain.
general hydroponics liquids say right on the bottle, concentrated to the limit of solubility. this means it's not watered down, it is a concentrate. this makes it much easier to use than a dry powder which you'd have to very accurately weigh.
Big lights equals big plants
I REALLY appreciate your non-judgemental approach and just let your guests talk about their own experiences. It's awesome that so many techniques work and allow growers to pick between them to choose what's best for their situation. Great channel!
As a coco salt guy this hit the spot! But now I'm slapping myself for topping and the first few days were ROUGH for my ladies. Hoping they'll get taller than an inch hahaha.
