In Season 2 Ep 5, The family purchases Misty’s dream house in Mori, within Shizuoka Prefecture, they ride mountain bikes, eat ramen and Japanese shaved ice, and share insight into their countryside life away from motocross racing.

If your a seasoned traveler and haven't been to Japan then your missing so much.
Yes Tokyo and Yokohama are pretty full on, but get out to the county side and its a whole different world.
There are so many layers to Japan of which a tourist will only see/experience such a small % of. If you show respect to the traditions, behave/act in a way that is in line with Japanese culture, a whole world will open up to you.

Good on you guys, I have done the same and purchased in a mountain village in Japan, Love the people and the culture of the small Japanese towns, very community orientated lifestyle built on respect for each other, having grown up on the sunny coast, it's a totally different way of life. Can't wait to see how the house comes along!
It's a great plan to base JAY's family home in Shizuoka Prefecture, because Shizuoka is the home of Yamaha,Honda,Suzuki's MECCA for motorcycles. I'm excited to watch how the old Japanese houses "KOMINKA" will be renovated your favorite. I'm looking forward to seeing JAY's race rounds in the second half of this year! ；D
