I too cut my bananas high up and next spring it grows back from the top. We live in southeast NC. I mulched heavy but do not cover the cut plants.
The pure joy of picking fresh veggies/fruit off the vine and eating immediately….yum, yum….glad you've not lost your "south"…😊
Wasn’t Woody Allen’s movie, “sleeper“ was the one that dealt with coming out of the elevator after 20 years of sleeping and finding NOBODY interested in sex? That was the funniest, funniest, funniest, but evidently true for the future, which is now.
Is Whit your only buck?
Hey, RR and gardeners….sweet potato question for ya-
I grew slips from sweet potatoes this past winter indoors. I’n case I don’t get many to harvest can I grow slips from cuttings now and then pot them up over winter and grow slips from them for next season??
lol, is it obvious I don’t want to buy more seed potatoes. 😂
I have been faithfully watching you for years and years never missing an episode… Yet it still amazes me how I can still learn so much from you, and sometimes it’s just a passing comment, remark but it fires off a thought in my mind that opens a whole New World to gardening for me or other things. Thank you, Jess and thank you for all the people in your life that you bring into mine❣️ to say that I love you and your channel is such an understatement♥️
I loved this video. Seemed old school to me.
Soooo much love for you Jessica and sweet Miah
You kill me with that guinia flock! its so funny! ….probably not to you! lol! I'm sorry !
Hey Jess, I'd say if Whit is being "bucky" the chances are good he will do the job. Even if you don't see it. I've only ever had one time a pair of Nubian bucks didn't breed my girls because they just did not mature as fast as some do. I've also had a year where I had a mini alpine breed my entire herd of 8 full size and I never saw a darn thing. I bet he'll do it😉
He’s probably thinking of the song Jessie’s girl by Rick Springfield ??
Would love to see more horse content pretty please 🇬🇧
My local grocer is selling pumpkins for $50. As I walked up to look my mind is thinking how many pumpkin pie would that pumpkin possibly make? Next thought was maybe it has golden seeds. LoL I know people are buying them just to decorate & my goodness it hurts my heart.
Jess, I think I laughed more during this vid than I have any other single one you've shared that I've seen!
I also learned so many new things! Saving this vid to share with a young neighbor that visits me! We trade garden talk (and actually all kind of ideas, tips, future plans etc lol) Several things we've discussed/mused over are brought up in this vid! Thank You!
What’s wills YouTube channel?
❤
Thank you ! Your yellow watermelon looks delicious !
I hope sometime you can share a video of Miah working with the cattle. I envision a golden hour photo with dust in the air…beautiful. This video is what I’ve been missing. Beautiful shots of your garden and that joy showing on your face. ❤
Hi Jess, thanks for the video. Have a sweet day. Cheers! ❤
Less stress look great on you Beautiful Friend! 💖 So glad to see you. 😊
❤❤❤ 🕊️
You have such a refreshing smile and your eyes just light up when you talk about your gardens.
😊 I swear, instinct will kick in😮
The Guinea fowl heard you talking smack about them. 😂
You just let your southern come on out dear I’m a yankee and I let my southern out to
Your goats are so precious! Mine have absolutely NO manners and will get into anything and everything 🤣
Where do you get your linen dresses? Maybe you've shared before but I'm trying to move into using more natural fibers for clothing and would love to know where you shop!
My family always gets shocked by the "houseplants" we grow in our southern landscapes. 😂
I would go ahead and start feeding the pumpkins to your animals, great crop! Great for the chickens 🐔
Stay safe in the massive storm that’s gonna shake us all in FL, GA, SC, NC. Be Prepared everyone – this is one amazing teacher for taking care of yourself at all times! We love you folks and making prayers of protection for all in Hurricane Helene’s path.
I think the lady goats just don't appreciate him as much yet because he is young, I've had that experience with using young bucks. Also regarding the guineas, they are delicious! You guys should definitely eat some of them. It's sort of like in between duck and turkey.
Been working all day getting ready.
Thank you so much for your compassion and prayers.
Here with all my 4 legged kids praying.
Blessings to you Mark!
So this non-goat person was wondering why you were saying your goats were artificial intelligence (AI). 😅
I live in Vermont and close to Hanover!!
Jess thank you both for yr honesty and yr big 💕
It’s funny to me that your cherry tomatoes are coming to the end of their season. Ours are too, but they also JUST started producing anything in the last couple weeks. I’m just getting to the point where I actually have to take a container to the garden to harvest them lol. Until now it’s just been me munching on them here and there as I wander through the beds
I find with my Nigerians is that their heat cycles while in milk are soooo quiet and barely noticeable. I usually dry them off a month or 2 prior to breeding to let them reabsorb any milk and build their strength and wow, they'd their heats are noticeable lol!
The video quality is AWESOME! Also, I like hearing about the goats!
You too are my marriage goals😊
How fun. It's so nice to see you happy and almost childlike in your joy of things.
I sure do love that Bear! grins
I’ve heard of does not being interested in bucks that are younger, that may be it. I’ve never AI’d before so I’m not sure if them just not “knowing” is the case. I’ll be interested to hear how it goes in say maybe a months time, and your yearling buck gets into a heavier/stinkier rut.
I hope you have planted or soon will plant your Brussels Sprouts for Miah as he so loves the veggie.
how to look effective
More and more people living this homestead life are downsizing and falling in to contentment. What a beautiful thing to say, "it is enough and thrive in that place. ❤"
Line your driveway with the pumpkins! Cook some down and can it for the animals and yourselves. Come deliver a few to my house (Meridian, ID isn't too far, is it?)! Beautiful horses, but watch that camera if you want to keep it! God Bless!
I watched your last video. I understand the desire to grow and fill your space. But it gets too be more stress than enjoyment. I was so heartened to see the lightness and joy in both of you with the decision to pull back a bit. I know that your "pull back" is still going to be an amazing amount of work. Your vibe of grace and calm makes me so happy. Love you and your family
Hey y’all be careful through the storm Helene. Looks like we’re going to take a direct hit from her, they say as a Cat4. We have all types of volunteers here from medics to power guys. Tonight my daughter and I were running to Publix for some last minute stuff and had a Pafford County Arkansas ambulance beside us. We really appreciate all those folks leaving safety and heading here to the Danger Zone. Y’all be careful. Helene is not wanting to play nice. From Tallahassee, Florida.
