Great presentation! Way to go Mr. Maple staff!
Great video friends! Very informative! Thank you for always educating us on how to be better gardeners! 🥰🍁
Here is my experince, up-pot when the wind blows your tree over every week. I ususally up-pot too early. I use the cheap plastic containers but maybe I should swap to clay pots.
good work yall 👏
Great duo- keep em coming.
AI.. says gravel at the bottom of a pot can prevent water from draining properly and can cause root rot
I don’t mean to be picky, but to me the term soil means life and dirt is devoid of it. Mr Maple provides soil with its trees. Also, how about mycorrhiza?
Love this video. I've been wondering about using rocks with my terracotta pots and maples and this confirms it. Also the minor compacting of the soil is super helpful. Thank you Elizabeth and Corbin!
I only use saucers during heat waves 🥵 then take the saucers away. Just temporarily helps with not having to water twice a day.
Great content! Thank you!
I had 6 Jap Maples in pots for 2 yrs due to pesky Voles–then 3rd yr I planted them in ground with protection around bottom of tree. But I have 2 Jap Maples been in pots for 5 yrs and doing well. I fertilize all of them in summer.
9:04 I seriously thought corbin was going to put it fully over his head 😆.
Great tips in the video, more newbies need to learn from this.👍🏽
I potted up 5 or so Japanese Maples this summer and I had to make my own potting soil for them since every place around here sells your typical "miracle" potting mix.
I had to go to Lowes and get bags of pine bark mulch and sift the large pieces out as well as the many many wood pieces, add 15% myccorhiza Pro Mix for moisture retention, and about 10% perlite for aeration.
Seems to be working well and drying out appropriately, but making it almost from scratch sure was a pain in the Acer.
