  1. Thank you for leader demonstration. Do you deep water your new trees at any time other than when planted? I started doing this in the fall and they’ve all done well for the first few years so far. Thanks too for showing us the Stokes aster, what a great late summer addition! 💜

  2. You teach us so much Laura! I had no idea to train a leader. Learn something new every day from you. Thank You!!

  3. What a great video. So helpful info on pruning dead and establishing new leader! Always love planting new material! Those asters are stunning. The structure of all aspects of that variety are amazing! Thanks for taking us along!❤❤❤

  4. Hi Laura I have learned so much from you, thank you. One thing I see that you are to hard on your self, when it comes to plants that don’t look good at the time of planting, you need to show them it’s part of what real gardening is, we can learn from that too, in the beginning it is not all looking perfectly.

  5. Hi Laura, could you please demonstrate how to prune an evergreen for size control? I have a yellow ribbon arborvitae that I love but it is outgrowing the size that was listed on the tag. I need it to stay the size it is now (6 by 3).

  6. Yea! Something else new I learned while watching your channel! I have a small Japanese maple that is growing all wonky and I knew I needed to prune it, but now I know how to create a new leader which was the main problem! Also, what ever happened to the electric pruner you demonstrated at one time. Seems like that would be helpful in cutting some of the larger branches and eliminate the need for the big loppers. Maybe it was corded and so therefore impractical, I honestly don’t remember now. Thanks so much for being so informative and fun to watch!

  7. Was für eine tolle Idee, einem Baum wieder ein gutes Aussehen zu verschaffen ! Super ! 🙋‍♀️👌🌱👍👍👍

  8. Dear Laura, you had shown some huge elderberry plants on your neighbour's property, some yrs back. Are they still there?

  9. Very interesting video, Laura! I know you know exactly what you’re doing, and that you are a fearless young woman, but I can’t tell you how glad I was when you were finished and safely back on the ground. The tree looks great now!

  10. What I never knew you could do that to a tree good job Laura. The plantings are going to be amazing in both places so fun to watch each day. ❤

  11. Hi Laura, we just planted 2 different Phlox varieties from Proven Winners and we're just wondering how and when you prune and fertilize yours? Thank you😊

  12. Do you have a in depth tree trimming video.. I have what I believe is a red point maple in the back yard. I really don’t know but would guess it’s been there for over 5 years maybe closer to ten. We had a tree company out that pointed out that we had two leaders and to eliminate the weaker one. Which we did and I have been cleaning up branches that run on into each other and I think I should remove the ones that point up into the tree? We also evened up the tree a little bit after the weak leader removal.

  13. Douglas may be anticipating starting his own channel. He’s warmed up as he used to be more grouchy

  14. The “new leader” demo was very interesting and educational. Thank you. I’m so impressed that you were up on the ladder AND filming. You need a cherry picker with a basket!!
