Today I spent some time in the garden doing another big harvest before the cold weather sets in. I harvested close to 300lbs of food picking tomatoes, beets, turnips and celery and I loved every minute of it. I hope you enjoy coming along with me.
Thanks for watching!

I want to try borscht, my daughters in-laws make for Christmas Eve but I have yet to try it
❤
Got an answer about the cucamelons: We do not have any data on safe processing for pickling cucamelons. However, any pickled product can be made and stored safely in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. There is no way to make them shelf stable.
Thank you for your interest in the National Center for Home Food Preservation.
I enjoy your channel so very much Chelsea. Congratulations on another beautiful harvest! Wishing I was your neighbor. I would hit you up and try to buy some of these goodies. God Bless.
I love mashed turnips with butter and salt. Yum
We grow Jet Star tomatoes down here in Arkansas and they are fantastic for canning and fresh eating. We also love fried green tomatoes when there to many left on the vine come frost. Love your videos!!

What a great tomato harvest.
As a woman named Simon, who has Scheherazade-like cat tales, Poppy's story of mistaken identity is familiar. Could still be Poppy or Papi (same pronunciation in Caribbean Spanish). Thanks for managing kitty population with the neuter/spay. Thanks for sharing your LMR journey with us. 🥰 P.S. The cat I had who looked like Poppy/Simon was named Mr. Stripey [stray momma dropped a litter in my garden so all kittens had "things you find in a garden" names.] 🍅
I absolutely love seeing your harvests.
I suspect the nibbling on your root crops are voles as mice don't burrow. And yes, your garden cat will keep them under control and they must be doing a fabulous job since they aren't all damaged! I am surprised that you don't find them in your potatoes. I've been told that they sometimes curl up inside the potato they are munching on. I have had them scurrying out of the potatoes as I harvest! Yuck!!! LOL
I usually watch YT on my TV, making it impossible to comment, but I had to jump on my computer and comment because… We got a couple of kittens from my friend. We checked their sexes and came to the conclusion they were one of each, boy and girl. I contacted my granddaughter who's great with naming animals and she picked "Finn", who is tiny and black/gray striped and "Lavender" who is grayish/white like a siamese with blue eyes. The funny part is, as my husband David and I were laying in bed one night, the kittens came up for cuddles and I just happened to glance down and I said to my husband, "David, are those testicles?" He looked and said, "Hmm.. Lavender needs a new name". His name is "Toast" now. Second guessing myself at this point, they had a Vet appointment a couple days later and I asked for confirmation and it seems "Finn" is NOT a boy, but we kept her name as "Finnie". ALSO… I'm 56 and friend, these hot flashes are no joke! I'm SO glad Autumn is almost here. We're looking at a high of 69*F here in Kansas next weekend and I'm about to throw a party over it! It's been a very different Summer from when we moved here almost 3 years ago, and I have a feeling it's going to be a cold, wet, snowy winter.
Awesome harvest thank you for the video
I really enjoy watching your channel videos, you motivate me a lot. God bless you and your family.
Great vlog again. The beets looked amazing. ❤
You are amazing!
Your root cellar i think is a "Cistern" for collecting rain water for drinking !!
Farms usually have them under the house or under the barn. When i was a kid and i first saw one on my uncles farm- i said it was a built in swimming pool!! They all laughed!! I also thaught that one cow had a giant head- it was the bull !!
How satisfying !
That celery is GORGEOUS.
Do you ever get rats in the root cellar
I watch Acre Homestead and she uses her cherry tomatoes in a marinade to top things with! could be something to try!!
Those beet tops are gorgeous to eat… prepare like spinach. 🙂 Absolutely gorgeous garden and huge harvests 🎉
We had the same thing happen to us with a kitten that we found. My daughter named the kitten Nala. One night Nala was “making biscuits” and there it was! We changed his name to Trouble…a name well deserved ❤
I think you’re going to get at least 2k lbs of produce in all 😊
💚 You still have cucumbers, wow! We had a better year for ours, but the vines were looking fabulous and had lots of flowers, then started to turn yellow (kinda mosaic) and began to wither..just didn't get much production. I need to look into that. Beautiful harvest..those beets and turnips are amazing. Simon..LoL 💚
Loved your story about poppy/simon. 15 years ago we got a female kitten and named her cleopatra After a mishap. my daughter took her to the vet to be checked and called me to tell me that she was a boy. His mane is now cleo
❤❤❤
Love your root cellar!
Try pickling some beets….I just boil white vinegar…ad desired touch of sweetness…delish..I just refridgerate…or turn them over to seal…delish….from Georgia ❤❤❤
Wow great garden video ! 🎉 wish we could see your cows get all the left over goodies ! They will love it 😂❤
Nice root cellar wish mine was thst big ! 🎉
Another wonderful harvest❗ I love it all‼❤💛🧡
If you don't have time to ripen all your tomatoes on the vine, take the green ones and wrap them up in newspaper and put them in your cold cellar. About once a week go through them, and any that are showing signs of starting to ripen, take them out and put them in the window. You'll extend your fresh tomatoes by at least 2 months this way.
This is so inspiring!
Glad to see the root cellar getting full. Have a grwat week.
I am gardening through you and your AMAZING garden! Thank you for sharing your garden with all of us. I can’t even begin to tell you how much it means to me ❤️THANK YOU
I guess 325 lbs. this years 700 lbs
The same happened to my daughter her cat was a lulu, and then she noticed the same thing, so no lulu is now lulu lol ❤❤
