Hello! Last year I moved into a house with an existing greenhouse, which I've been happily trying to use since! It's starting to show it's ages though and is definitely in need of a thorough clean and a bit of TLC.
I'm planning to take out all the glass, and maybe even take apart the frame to give it a proper clean and repair. My question is, is this a stupid idea? Is there anything I should be aware of before I try this? What's the risk that I just wreck the whole thing? As far as I can tell it's an aluminium-framed Halls greenhouse, standing mostly on a concrete slab (it overhangs a bit on one of the edges). There's a mixture of glass and plastic for the windows, presumably where stuff has been replaced over the years.
Any advice very gratefully appreciated!

I honestly wouldn’t take it apart, I’d just try to do as good of a job cleaning it as it stands, and repair it as it needs. I’m never confident in taking something down and being able to reassemble it, especially something as delicate as a greenhouse. I could be wrong, but my personal experience of trying to do something similar has turned out very frustrating lol 😂
I have a similar greenhouse. It was a pain to put together WITH the instructions. I’m certain I would never be able to take it apart and reassemble without knowing the specific order the instructions provided. Your greenhouse doesn’t look that bad from the picture. I use a pressure washer to clean mine occasionally.
I took a lot of glass out of mine and moved it whole. I broke quite a few glass panels, unfortunately. If I were you I’d leave what is in there and just replace/repair what is missing/damaged. It’s a never-ending process let me tell you.
I took down a free greenhouse in a friend’s house. It was quite a bit of hassle with all the frame, fixings and bolts & nuts. Then there’s the glass. Heavy, needs to be stored somewhere appropriate. I can’t tell you how many pieces I broke.
Another solution is to just take the glass out, replace the seals and wipe/scrub down the frame? Would be less hassle than doing the entire thing.
Taking it apart and reassembling it sounds like a nightmare. It’s a metal frame, so I don’t think it would be worth the hassle. Just get some air duster to clean out the tiny crevices. It’s a beautiful green house
