  1. In the secret garden is your lion fountain, therefore, I think, you should call it "Lion Lane". Depending on what direction you go you could also call it the "Secret Safari'.
Since it is so separate from the rest of your garden zones, you could really lean into a niche setting.

  2. Once you have electric garage doors you might want to also consider adding motorized or sliding screen doors. It'll keep the air circulating when you're working on woodworking projects.

  3. You and Jason are making everything so beautiful. Watch out for the plants that are poisonous to dogs, however.
Like foxglove and those ferns by the chickens.

  4. Jason and Janey, you have every right and reason to brag very proudly!! You deserve major gigantic kudos for all of your hard work, meticulous planning, and miraculous results! Your channel is awesome in every way.
I hope you both know how much you are admired, respected and appreciated.
Proven Winners was brilliant to select you to represent them!

  5. Gardening goals! As for the shoes I HIGHLY recommend you bring your shoes in and keep them there black widows will crawl into your shoes nest and lay eggs. Even if you use your shoes often and knock them out you can not be sure they will get knocked out. The tiny black widows are the MOST venomous and can kill in less than an hour. It just is not worth it, we are in Ca., it part of life here in Northern Ca. especially it looks like you are in a more rural location so add scorpions and snakes to that list. :/

  6. Hi Janey – you and Jason really have been so bizzy, the place is looking fabulous. This spray for the Bud Worms, BT, is this bad for the bees? Im always afraid of spraying in the garden.

  7. I think you should leave all the pink annuals and salvias in the ground out back. They will nurture and give back to the soil. You could keep bringing compost up to and around them, which again will amend the soil status. The visual appeal of these plants just spilling over on the soil, is too beautiful — so please don’t remove.🙏

  8. Why not move the veto beds to the vegetable garden and use the concrete area for your wagon storage. Then you can use that patio as a patio intended like for games and gathering area for family and friends.

  9. I have Superbina pink cashmere in pots by my front door (inspired by yours!) and my husband didn’t water them when I went out of town. 😩 I’m in zone 9b and it was very warm last week so they wilted and died. I trimmed back the dead and the stems are still green. I’m hopeful they will rebound. 🤞Any tips? Or is it just wait and see?

  10. Everything is so beautiful! It’s amazing what you and Jason have done in your first year! Love it♥️♥️💐🪴🌱🌺🌸🍃

  11. Donna here, my lab also has a ball just like that. His mouth is not big enough to bite the whole thing to carry it, so I often have to unstick his teeth from the holes bc he can't open his mouth wide enough to spit it out! He doesn't like it as much as the basketball that he carries around! (he popped it). On a garden note, I can't grow cucumbers to save my life! Its soo annoying! I tried for 4 years and they grew but they were always bitter! I give up. (In zone 8)

  12. The "secret shade garden" would make an excellent coleus garden, filled with a variety of coleus, they should grow well there!

  13. You have achieved an unreal amount of amazing goal on this property. So great to watch you are like the energize bunny! Always so busy.

  14. You need to buy a Gator! I have one for my 2 acres and it’s a game changer. No need for all those wagons. Best investment ever!,

  15. Your yard keeps getting more beautiful every month! Please show us label loving viewers when you label stuff in your metal workshop!! 😀🇨🇦

  16. Your garden has come such a long way. Wow! Big congrats on all that you’ve accomplished. I can’t wait to see what’s in store.

P.S. I’ll volunteer to dig your dahlia tubers! That salmon colored one is amazing! My favorite color in the garden for sure.😍

  17. Well this is what i need to do in my shed. Clean it out and paint it white. Love that. ADHD makes me forget where I put everything.

  18. I love this back room. Looked clean and welcoming. I’m kinda new to your channel. Where are you from? Are you always been a Cali girl?

  19. Your wagons are great! Giving me ideas n hope for organizing our small Licensed plant nursery here in South Texas Thank you for all the ideas ❤

  20. Beautiful raised beds. Regarding your cucumbers being bitter – it’s because you are not removing the male flowers before they get established. If you remove all the male flowers you won’t get bitter cucumbers. The male flowers just have a thin stalk behind them whereas the females have a bulge.

  21. Every month we see more and more progress! And the garden adjacent updates are great too because all gardeners need to keep their stuff somewhere and you give us great ideas. Keep going👍👏👩🏼‍🌾

  22. Just keep amending and mulching your soil and over time it will improve. I topdress my entire yard with 4yards of compost twice a year, once in mid to late October then a again around mid March. The winter and early spring rains wash and work it into the soil

  23. I am so proud of both of you, Janey❤. Your gardens have really come a long way❣️ I’m excited to see all the trees that you will be planting for shade❣️ They will make all the difference.
