Had 2 plant here but they died. Need to replant this spot but is it too late in the year?
Am I better off waiting till spring?

I guess it may depend on what I want to play there?
Any suggestions?

If there is an R in the month you can plant

Depends on what ya want…if you want a flash of colour from now to Xmas… Just plant a bunch of cyclamen. You can get them on special every where at the minute. Low maintenance and just dead head to keep them blooming. But they are low to the ground. You could also just get some mini conifers for just some good old ever green.
Now if you wanna plan for the spring, plant daff and tulip and crocus bulbs etc. if you want big and bushy and flowery, pick up a large chrysanthemum.. bout 50 quid for the big ones and will fill a big space

    Perfect time for spring bulbs.

Easiest way to see what you can plant this time of year (in any month) is go to a garden centre or a woodies and see what they have out. If it’s something in bloom, Google to see how long it might stay in bloom and then bring home the things that will have colour or look nice for the longest. I agree re spring bulbs, but you won’t get to enjoy them for a while. So might as well add something else in while you’re at it!

Shrubs and most perennial flowers are best planted in November – January, so you have time to think about it! How sunny is that area?

Nope. The ground will still be warm for another month. It’s a good time to plant a perennial because it will build a good root system now and do really well next year. I’m loving ferns at the moment. Evergreen which is great and there are some really nice green and silver ones.
Now is the time to plant bulbs. You can plant them under perennials to give color before the perennials flower.
Hellebores are also good. Low maintenance.

Cannabis does really well this time of year 👀
