Perfect size for pickling as well.
I had no idea about the leaves. I hated picking okra as a kid, but munching on them raw and freshly plucked was wonderful
I love okra, I can eat it all year the smaller they are the better they are and tender
Yummy.
I never knew you could eat the leaves. I will try eating the okra and leaves. Thanks.
Great looking okra plant, Loaded with buds. What variety is that?
Thanks for sharing.
Thank you..I didn't think you could eat them raw❤
Raw okra picked fresh off the tree actually tastes a bit sweet.
Very crunchy and addictive too!
The other day I saw my first okra plant, I was so amazed at it beauty ❤
I really enjoy okra. And I have never seen it for sale in a fresh non-frozen form. I never thought of growing them in my garden though. Do you know what type of climate, soil they thrive in? And are they prone to any disease that I should be cautious of?
Okra is a good vegetable. For diabetes too I eat it a lot too. Thank you for sharing!
What makes the okra fruit tough and woody? How can you tell before you eat or cook it?
We grew up eating the leaves in africa
Good example of the meristem!XOXO
I like it real small in size ..i cook it making it a stew ..with tomatoes, lamb chops, tomato paste,a lot of garlic…like 7 big gloves ..or more .a little bit of lemon salt..just a little.. salt and a little bit of pepper..i just take the juice of the tomatoes..what i do ..i boil the okra until half done..i strain it and wash it with cold water ..put it aside..in the pot i fry the lamb chops with a little bit of oil or lard..add lamb ribs too it's delicious..then put the okra and the garlic..let them roast a little.. like 3-4 minutes..then add the tomato juice..and the tomato paste ..let them simmer..the better way to boil the lamb chops and the lamb ribs after frying them to let them cook until tender then add the okra and garlic then tomato juice and tomato paste..then water..then some salt ,lemon salt..like a little bit..a small pinch..and a little bit of black pepper..let it simmer..and when it's done ..serve with white rice ..
❤ thank you❤
The okra pods can reveal woody and tough texture by feel. Monitor plants so they don't grow too large.
What does Okra taste like? It is not commonly eaten in our country.
They make really good pickled okra😊
Many countries cook not only the vegetables but the leaves on the plant as well. I’m glad you brought this up
