  1. I think the lack of shirting fabric may be because we call it Poplin? Any other aussies know for certain?

  2. Congratulations on your first trip to Joann's! You made it sound so exotic and exciting, but I swear they're on every street corner out here (and not as exciting as one would hope hahaa)

LOVE your plans. I can't wait to see the black dress come to life. You should do a tutorial if you end up doing the shirred bodice! I've been dying to do something similar.

  3. The lace on the white tablecloth is called Battenberg. If you google, there are lots of ways people have transformed tablecloths into stunning garments.
I’d love to see a tutorial with the black broderie anglaise.

  4. I'm looking forward to all the videos! You asked about working on black fabric. I'm fine if that's the one you show – your explanations are so clear that I find it still easy to follow along.

  5. Your fabrics are fabulous and I think you will look great in all of them. Would love to see a few sewalongs/tutorials of a couple of them.

  6. Hi Janelle, thanks once again for the inspiring video! With the white lace blouses I can't help myself feeling like I will look like someone who goes to work in a restaurant serving food😅 which somehow does not really inspire me to sew a blouse even though I have accumulated some white lace over time. How do you navigate the balance? How do I feel elevated with a white lace collar?

  7. I love watching your sewing plan videos! I actually made a pair of seersucker black and white gingham shorts with your shorts pattern and added a ruffle to the bottom of the legs, and they turned out sooo cute. Unfortunately I made them late in August and won't be able to wear them again until next summer but I've gotten so much wear out of them already. I definitely recommend adding ruffles for an extra cutesy look 🙂

  8. hi Janelle. i love making summery dresses too. What do you use to line your dresses? if i want to water my light cotton dresses in winter with tights, they ride up due to friction from the cotton fabric. Would you happen to have any suggestions for lining materials? How do you wear your summer dresses in winter?

  9. Would love your pansy pattern hack, I just got my pattern last week in the post! I'm making your black and white gingham version first 😊. Although right now I'm making a bunch of pattern hacked Willa dresses from a maternity dress pattern I had. They are so good for my post-partum body and easy for breast feeding! Thank you so much for your inspiration and can't wait to make my very own pansy dress when fabric arrives! ❤😊

  10. I'm definitely most excited for the black Pansy dress and would love to see a tutorial, either with the black fabric or not. I have some black on black gingham fabric that I want to make a pansy style dress out of so it would be really interesting to see what you come up with. And I do love broderie anglais!

  11. I would love to see the dress created in black. I have been wanting to use the same style fabric in a project and am curious to see how it behaves.

  12. The fabrics are all so beautiful! The crepe fabric looks like it goes perfectly with both the eucalyptus linen and the red/orange shirting fabric. Idk if you have enough fabric but I feel like blouse out of the crepe would look so perfect paired with both ideas you have for the other two fabrics!
Looking forward to seeing all your spring sewing!

  13. I d'ont mind if the fabric is black on tutorials and I'd love to see the version of the open back dress tutorial <3

  14. Regarding the chiffon crepe you could do two things either flat line it with a lightweight cotton lawn or fine silk and sew as one piece or you could make a simple slip dress to go underneath 😊

  15. I've had my eye on that pintuck dress from Frux Studio too! Hoping to make it in a bright blue hemp fabric I bought in Japan last year.

  16. Omg I purchased that pin tuck dress immediately after watching this video!! What a stunner! Looking forward to your version😍

  17. Thank you for yet another inspirational sewing plans video! 😍 Regarding the black pansy dress; I would love to see a video of you making it – for me it does not matter to see everything perfectly; you are so easy to understand either way 🥰 And you already have a tutorial video for the original pansy – I would probably just watch that if anything got confusing in the black version 😊

  18. Lovely plans! It’s such a nice feeling, getting that flush of inspiration and excitement when the seasons turn. I’m looking forward to the pintuck bodice dress! There is just something so pleasing and timeless about pintucks, so subtle but at the same time gives such an elevated impact.

  19. Gorgeous as ever! Im making a second pair of your shorts pattern in a halloween fabric with a halloween lace trim

  20. Fabulous plans! I have the garden dress in my plans too! And would love love to see your Pansy Dress with shirred bodice!!❤

  21. Oh please make Abbey's shirred linen dress! Her tutorial on instragram wasn't detailed enough and I'd love an in depth video on how to make it 🥰
