How about doing the opposite? Used the garage as a workshop and build a guest house/inlaws house instead
So I’m also a Carpenter here in Ontario. About a month ago I decided to fill in the walk out in our basement, the struggle is real on doing the block work. Hope to never do it again.

I have a burning question lol I’ve been holding off on asking bc i was waiting to see if it would be answered, but it hasn’t been so I can’t hold off any longer. Why is the bottom step of the front porch so high off the ground? Will you be adding an additional step there?

I do like the green better but I so understand about the darkness. You will enjoy the lighter color.
I changed a basement door into a window. I framed it in wood. Sided the outside and built shelves in the other side. It worked.

To be more specific it’s not bees or wasps but mud daubers or we call them dirt daubers and they make those little mud pods. Inside of them you will find trapped live spiders. When the mud daubers babies are born they will eat the spiders. At least that’s what I heard.

Cement has pores and both holds and give off water in a condensation like method that will roit the wood.

Its a lovely color! I love that shade of green but in an area like that it totally makes sense to go with a bright light color. It ends up looking gorgeous
